Casa Margret is located in the old village center of Giumaglio, surrounded by rustici and alleys. A waterfall for swimming and sunbathing is only 2 min. away. In 5 minutes, you can reach a suspension bridge over the Maggia River, which leads to quiet spots. Additional works of art can be viewed directly at her place upon request. Kitchen Casa Margret has fully equiped kitchen. For the first breakfast, homemade jam, honey, cheese, milk, eggs, tomatoes, coffee, tea and juice are available. In addition, fresh fruits, pasta, rice, wine and grappa are available (these are not replenished during the stay). There is direct access to the balcony, which has a table and chairs. Living area A rustic fireplace creates cozy warmth and a cozy atmosphere. Bedroom On the top floor, there is a double bed with a view of the tiled roofs and the mountains, as well as a sunny balcony – an ideal place to relax. Work oasis The house is also suitable for those who want to combine work with holidays. Upstairs there is a large desk on rolls that can be moved in front of the balcony as desired. The house has an internet connection. Bath The rustico features a beautiful bathroom with a granite shower and a large bathtub for relaxing and rejuvenating. Guest access By public transit: Take the train to Locarno. At the end of the tracks is the bus stop. Take bus 315 towards Cavergno. Get off in Giumaglio (press the stop button to Coglio, otherwise the bus will not stop). Car to Giumaglio: From Locarno, drive towards Vallemaggia to Giumaglio. Public parking: In the village, there is public parking marked as a blue zone. The parking ticket can be purchased on site via Twint or ParkingPay, with the following options: Day pass: CHF 5.00 Weekly pass: CHF 25.00 Monthly pass: CHF 50.00 Other things to note Extensions In the Maggia Valley and the surrounding region there are numerous excursion and hiking opportunities. A variety of hiking maps and travel books are available in the cottage. Shopping opportunities Shopping and a post office are located in Maggia, about 3 km. The bakery Poncini supplies the village with fresh pastries daily from Monday to Saturday at 8:15 am. Panettone can also be purchased for pre-order (the van stops on the old village street in front of the ascent to the church). Restaurants In the surroundings there are cozy restaurants and traditional Grötti where you have the opportunity to enjoy authentic local specialties. Some of these places are even within walking distance and also offer a selection of vegetarian dishes.
