Treat yourself to a break in the countryside 1 hour from Paris, in a pretty little country house, peaceful and surrounded by greenery with a private garden and a picturesque little stream → A country house full of charm ideal for your weekends/holidays with family or friends The space One hour from Paris, located in the heart of the Juine Valley, the Beau Rivage house welcomes you. Surrounded by trees and bordered by the Juine River, it is a charming country house, nestled very close to the famous watercress beds of the Mérévillois region and just a stone's throw from the Domaine de Méréville, a magnificent park with its 18th-century castle. Lovers of walking or jogging can enjoy these activities in the woodlands and fields around the house. Walking trails and one of the famous St. James Way routes (the GR111) can be accessed just a few yards from the house. Those who prefer to stay more relaxed can simply enjoy the garden in the shade of the trees or by the Juine, one of whose tributaries flows through the property. This house is our little "family nest," where we regularly gather with family or friends. A getaway in the countryside, to change your surroundings and relax while listening to the birds and watching the squirrels scurry about in the trees. For fishing enthusiasts, the Juine runs along our property, and one of its tributaries crosses it, allowing you to indulge in your passion without leaving the house! (Catch-and-release area) THE HOUSE: The single-story house consists of a large living room/kitchen, a dining room and a spacious living room, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. A few yards from the main house, there is a separate studio, renovated in 2023, consisting of one bedroom and one bathroom. Upon entering the house, you are immediately in a living room combining 2 spaces: the entrance and the open kitchen. This room opens directly onto the living room, with large windows overlooking the garden. An office area is available for your use. (Note: The wood-burning stove shown in the photos is not functional.) The fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, oven, etc.), which opens to the living room, has a table that can seat 6 people. The living room also features a table for 6 people, allowing you to vary the atmosphere for meals. The bathroom is equipped with a bath/shower and a wooden vanity unit with 1 sink, as well as a toilet. The master bedroom is equipped with a queen-size double bed and a large wardrobe/closet. As for the guest or children's bedroom, it is equipped with 2 single beds, which can be pushed together if necessary. Both bedrooms are equipped with wooden shutters. High-speed Wi-Fi (fiber) is available throughout the house. A large terrace with a family-sized table overlooks the garden at the front of the house. A stone BBQ is also available for your use (charcoal not included – to be cleaned after use). At the back, another terrace equipped with a table for 6 people allows you to enjoy the trees lining the Juine. Going down a few steps, you arrive at the backyard, which leads to the separate studio. The studio bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed and a small wardrobe. A desk area allows you to work in peace and quiet with a view of the river and the squirrels. The bathroom consists of a toilet and a pleasant shower overlooking the greenery. The garage is open to our guests: it is a room where we store lounge chairs, books, and toys for all ages. In particular, you will find badminton rackets, a Molkky set, a petanque set, and other toys and books for children. Provided for your stay: * Sheets, duvets, pillows, towels. * Hairdryer, toiletries The house can accommodate 3 cars within the grounds. Safety: - During the stay, children will be under the exclusive supervision of their parents. Be careful with the nearby river, especially the terrace overlooking the stream by the barbecue. - Smoke detector, 1 fire extinguisher. Check-in and checkout times are listed in the listing. If you wish to check in earlier or check out later than these times, you can request it, and we will check if it is possible. Out of respect for the neighborhood of this peaceful village: - Parties and events/receptions are not allowed. - No music in the garden after 10 p.m. - Pets not allowed. - No additional visitors: Please book for the actual number of guests. If this is not the case, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the accommodation. Note: Washing machine not available kk Guest access ACCESS: By car: 1 hour from Paris via N20 then follow the Monnerville/Méréville exit By train + taxi/car: Paris Austerlitz – Monnerville station: 45 minutes direct by TER then 10 minutes by taxi/car or 30 minutes by bike for the brave (Bikes accepted on the TER) Also RER C – St Martin d'Etampes station 20 minutes by car/taxi Other things to note ACTIVITIES IN AND AROUND MEREVILLE: Numerous activities in the area will meet the most diverse desires. Don't miss the Méréville departmental estate, its castle, its magnificent landscaped park labeled "remarkable garden", once one of the most beautiful romantic gardens in Europe. The 16th century market hall, the Saint Père church, the Trajan column, the washhouses, the bridges, the mills, the hamlets on the banks of the Juine, the outlying hamlets, the wayside crosses, all these monuments and this small rural heritage make Méréville one of the most picturesque sites in the region. No one can leave Méréville without having followed the course of the Juine and having walked through these beautiful wetland landscapes where watercress has been grown for more than a century. The watercress beds are indeed a remarkable element of the landscape, labeled "recovery landscape" since 1992 by the Ministry of the Environment. For art and history lovers, there are several must-sees: Etampes, a royal town, 20 km away. Also, the town of Pithiviers is accessible 30 minutes drive. Finally, Orléans or Chartres are 1 hour by car. PRACTICAL INFORMATION: You will find all the shops (grocery store, bakery, tobacco, florist, butcher, restaurants…), in the city center of Méréville, located 5 minutes by car. For complete shopping, Intermarché is the closest store to the house (4-minute drive). It also has a laundromat and a gas station.
