Lakaz Dodo Apartment

We're conveniently located to explore the sights of Mauritius. Just 5 minutes walk to the stunning coastline where you can walk along the coast to the authentic fishing village to buy street food, use the beach picnic tables or just enjoy the stunning sunsets. We are 5-10 minutes drive from some of the island's most beautiful beaches for snorkeling and swimming, and 15 minutes drive from Grand Baie's nightlife. The space Lakaz Dodo is a first floor, 2 bedroom apartment in the authentic, picturesque fishing village of Pointe aux Piments. The first bedroom has a comfortable double bed and clothes storage. The second bedroom is set up as an office for those who need to have a dedicated work space with a desk and storage cabinet. There is also a sofa bed available in the second bedroom. There is a spacious lounge with sofa and TV leading to the balcony on one side and the kitchen on the other. The full bathroom has a washing machine, ironing board and iron, and plenty of storage. The full kitchen is well equipped and has a breakfast bar and 2 stools. On the balcony there is also a table, 2 chairs and a hammock chair. # Please note that Mauritius has a new Tourist Tax starting on 1 October 2025. At check in guests must pay us 3 euros per person per night and we are responsible for paying it to the Mauritius Revenue Authority.# Guest access Guests can use the driveway and park 1 car at the side of the house by the guest entrance door. We also park our cars in the front of the house and share the drive way so please don't block the drive or the gate. The apartment is best suited to a couple or a solo traveler and not suitable for children or people with mobility issues as there is a staircase leading to the first floor. We recommend hiring a car so you can flexibly explore Mauritius. If you prefer to use buses, most places can be reached very cheaply by bus but they only run during the day time. We can also put you in touch with a local taxi company for airport transfers and daily outings. There is a local bicycle hire company which delivers and collects the bikes as well as local scooter hire.
