Great for someone working nearby! Enjoy total privacy in the upstairs efficiency suite of our shared home on the Fox River. Your suite has a bedroom, bathroom, and small living room with 2 closets and a desk. There is a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in your suite. Access to shared laundry and kitchen for light use. The entrance is through our shared home, but your entire suite is private. 1 mile from Downtown Algonquin 10 min to Crystal Lake or Barrington 20 min to Elgin, Schaumburg The space This is a private bedroom suite in our shared home, like your own efficiency apartment with an entrance from inside our home. There is a bedroom with queen bed and attached private bathroom. You walk through this queen bedroom to access the living room area with a futon, desk, and TV with Roku. There is also a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the suite, as well as plates, cups, etc. and a Brita water filter. This bedroom suite is private... only you will inhabit this space. You will have access to the shared laundry room and kitchen for occasional use. We can set up a schedule for the laundry room upon your arrival. There is plenty of closet space in the suite... a small closet in the main bedroom and a walk-in closet in the suite lounge area. Access to the private suite is via a spiral staircase in our kitchen. (We can help with your luggage.) You can see the river from the lounge area, but you are welcome to enjoy a much better view from the shared spaces also, like from our kitchen, family room, or the outside deck and yard. We have a big, beautiful kitchen with lots of counter space.. The river-facing side of the house is all windows, ensuring a beautiful view from the main area of the house, whether you are cooking, washing dishes, or just relaxing on the couch. We have a fully stocked kitchen with all the cooking supplies and amenities you need to make an amazing meal! We also have a grill right outside the kitchen. We ask that you use the kitchen no more than four hours per week. Also, please no cooking curries, no heavy frying in "vegetable"/soy oils, or cooking anything that creates a lingering odor. Also, please clean up after yourself in the kitchen, by washing your dishes in a timely manner and wiping counters, stove, splashes in the microwave or on refrigerator and oven doors. Additionally, if you use the kitchen during prime hours, you may have to share it with others. There are 2 TVs in your suite, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room area, and we currently have a subscription to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Hulu basic. You can also log into your own subscriptions. You will have access to the laundry room 1-2 days per week. We have a washer and dryer, as well as iron and ironing board. Your rental rate includes up to 3 quick or normal loads of laundry per week, including bedding. There is a schedule for all the members of the household. Laundry fee for more than 3 loads per week is $10 per load. Heavy duty loads, or cycles more than 90 minutes, are not allowed, and will also incur an extra fee if used. We can accommodate 3 guests short-term. However, only 2 guests for more than 14 nights. There is parking space for 1-2 cars. Guest access You have sole access to the entire upstairs bedroom suite. The kitchen, laundry room, family room, deck, and back yard are all shared spaces. You are welcome to use the kitchen and laundry room occasionally and to hang out in the shared areas outside your private suite. During your stay We live in the house and frequently work from home. We generally keep to ourselves, but we are around most times if you need anything. Other things to note You are staying in a private suite in our home, not a hotel. Please treat the space and our things with respect. Please clean up your own messes in the kitchen and any other shared areas during your stay. Max 14 nights for 3 guests.
