Arle Hut, riverside luxury on Vineyard estate

A beautifully designed shepherd's hut on a working Hampshire farm, set on a private tributary of the River Arle — one of England's finest chalk streams. Ten minutes' walk from Alresford along the river path. Wake to birdsong and the gentle sound of running water in one of the most peaceful settings in Hampshire. King-size pocket sprung bed, fully equipped kitchen, powerful hot shower and a two-person outdoor bath on the deck. Fire pit, log burner, river views and countryside walks from the door. The space The hut has been thoughtfully equipped with every home comfort. Sleep soundly on a king-size pocket spring mattress dressed with Egyptian cotton bedding, natural feather-filled duvet and pillows, Fermoie cushions and Matilda Goad towels. The sleeping area is a cosy, self-contained space with a blackout curtain, upholstered headboard and a window framing the surrounding landscape. The open-plan living area features a fully equipped sage green kitchen with hob, kettle, toaster and fridge, alongside a relaxed dining area and a Hadeda chair perfectly placed to take in the river view. A bar-style dining bench beneath the window makes the most of the outlook whatever the weather. The bathroom is well appointed with a powerful hot shower, basin and WC. Organic soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. On arrival you'll find milk from our local dairy alongside tea, coffee, olive oil, salt and pepper. A bottle of Louis Pommery English Sparkling Wine — made here on the estate — can be arranged as an extra. Outside Step onto the deck to find a two-person outdoor bath with hot water, a fire pit with firewood provided, and a grill for cooking al fresco. The hut is connected to mains water and electricity, and a beautiful gas-fired log burner keeps things wonderfully warm when the temperature drops. A fan is available for warmer nights. Small dogs are very welcome. A surcharge applies per stay. We kindly ask that dogs are not allowed on the beds or bathed in the outdoor bath.
