Charming Tudor in Historic Akron Neighborhood
Charming Tudor in Historic Akron Neighborhood
Description
Upgrades abound in this (almost) century home, which sits along a quiet street framed by stately 100-year-old oaks. The Tudor Rose has 3 bedrooms, with the third currently set up as a home office. Enjoy the view of the landscaped garden from the living room, or cozy up in the library for an afternoon of reading (or Netflix). The 20s-inspired bathroom is perfect for a spa night with an antique claw foot tub. Close to Downtown Akron, Highland Square, & Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The space Welcome to our Tudor Rose, a little respite only 10 minutes away from downtown Akron, where modern convenience and a love of the past converge. Enjoy the view of the professionally-landscaped garden from the living room while listening to a record or reading a book. A grand archway opens into the formal dining room, equipped with an antique Chippendale dining set with hand-carved details and seating for eight. The kitchen is fully-equipped for all of your cooking needs with a brand new Bosch refrigerator, artisan Kitchen-Aid mixer, and a coffee and tea station with Harney & Sons teas. Across the hall, you can cozy up in the library/study for an afternoon of binging the latest Netflix drama as you watch the sunset through the original casement windows. Our home is currently configured as two bedrooms and an office. Both bedrooms get fantastic light and are equipped with Casper mattresses and pillows and high-end linens. The office is set up with a Herman Miller Aeron ergonomic chair and Airia desk, as well as a laptop stand, HD monitor, and printer for all of your business needs. The main bathroom was inspired by the 1920s and is perfect for a spa night with its antique claw foot tub, pedestal sink and massage shower head. Luxuriously fluffy towels and bath robes complete the experience. We just put in a brand-new Electrolux washer and dryer set, tankless hot water heater + water softener, and a new roof; over the past year, we've refinished original hardwood floors and doors, waterproofed the basement, added new lighting, and painted with historically-inspired colors by Farrow & Ball. The back patio has a small bistro set and a Solo Stove fire pit, perfect for balmy summer nights as well as crisp fall ones. There's a Peloton Bike+ in the basement (subscription required) and free weights. Our neighbors have a small flock of a few fenced-in ducks and are happy to provide you with fresh eggs. Two large parks are within a two-minute walk from the house, where there are often concerts and other cultural events. Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit Metro Parks offer a host of hiking and biking opportunities. Located only 10 minutes from downtown Akron and University of Akron campus, as well as the Cleveland Clinic-Akron General and Summa hospitals. It's quick five minutes to Highland Square, where charming mix of cafes, bars, restaurants, a market, and a 1930s-era movie theatre await you. Whole Foods and local grocery chain Acme are also within a five-minute drive. Guest access You're free to use all areas of the house, save for two closets and an area in our basement which we're using for storage and guest supplies.
