You'll fall in love with the enchanting charm of this thoughtfully designed Airstream camper and private sanctuary! Located in a private forest setting, under 5 miles from Boone, this retreat is perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking a special/romantic get-away in the high-country with a peaceful and welcoming vibe :) This original vintage Airstream has been lovingly redesigned and updated inside to provide a meticulously clean space and uncluttered aesthetic. After a day exploring the high-country, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy queen-sized bed with outlets & surfaces for personal belongings on both sides. Inside you'll find a small sitting area with a leather couch, custom wood counters and bar with vintage iron stools. The kitchen is equipped with—a sink, stove/oven, pots, pans, coffee maker (yummy coffee and tea provided), dishes, utensils, and basic spices. Windows surround the space, giving you a constant connection to the forest outside. Soft interior lighting, local art, neutral tones, and custom tile work create a warm and cozy vibe. Heater, AC and ceiling-vent fans ensure you're a comfortable temperature (vintage windows cannot be opened, but the roof/ceiling vent fans can circulate in fresh air) At one end of the Airstream is a full bathroom with modern fixtures and whimsical custom tile. Step outside onto the large covered deck surrounded by forest and outfitted with wooden privacy screens. Unwind as you listen to the crackling fire in the firepit, soak in your private hot tub, or relax in the custom-built wooden sauna. The Airstream is permanently placed/leveled on the property and the electricity, water and underground septic system function like a traditional home. Guest access The entire retreat area containing the Airstream, fire-pit, deck, hot-tub and sauna hut are all yours. Your Airstream Retreat is located at the end of our private drive/road. You'll pass our house on the way there (and you may see us outside with our 2 friendly dogs), but your area is surrounded by forest and outfitted with wooden privacy screens. Guests check in at their leisure and the key will be waiting for you in the lockbox just outside the door of the Airstream. Other things to note ***Before requesting to book, please read the info. below*** - Winter Booking Awareness- While the Airstream is located close to town, certain winter conditions occasionally impact access on back roads. Based on our personal knowledge of how winter conditions can impact the roads leading to the Airstream, if we believe travel would be dangerous, we will reach out to discuss rescheduling/cancelling. If you need to be 100% sure that winter weather wouldn't impact your stay, a hotel/spot in town limits might be a better fit. -The final road to our property is unpaved and steep in some sections (0.3 mile long). Comfort driving on mountain roads is recommended year round and AWD is required in the winter months. -Cancellations- Securing a reservation implies understanding and agreement with our cancellation policy. We are unable to provide exceptions (unless we can rebook dates), so we strongly encourage folks to carefully review the policy and consider the offered trip insurance as a safeguard for unexpected personal issues (illness, flight cancellations, etc.). Cancellations that cannot be rebooked result in 100% loss of expected income that our family cannot absorb as this is our only property. Thank you for understanding. - While the Airstream is decked out with modern conveniences, it is still a camper at its core. The heater and air conditioner can be noisy at times, especially if they're running full blast, it's compact and cozy and the gas oven is on the smaller side. But if you're looking at an Airstream, you are likely already aware of these things ✨ -There is a small, private gun club located across the valley. If the possibility of hearing practice shooting in the distance would make you uncomfortable, this may not be the right fit. - The Airstream is intentionally TV free but we do provide excellent WIFI for personal devices. - We ask that in general, folks are relatively quiet after 11 pm. - Airstream has air conditioning and ceiling vent fans for fresh air, but the original windows cannot be opened. - We only allow a maximum of 2 adult guests. Please check with us first if you have local visitors. Please note that the space is not set up for children and is not child -proof in any way. - Animals/pets- We have 2 super friendly pups that live in the main house and you may occasionally see them during your stay. We apologize but we cannot have other animals on the property. Service Animals (as defined by the ADA) who are trained to do work or perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability are of course welcome. We kindly request guests let us know if they have a service animal so we can complete the necessary cleaning to protect future guests with allergies/asthma. Please note- SA's can never be left alone on the property for any period of time, even inside a crate Emotional support animals (ESA's) are not considered service animals under the ADA. Falsely misrepresenting a SA is illegal in NC (N.C.G.S.A. § 168-4.5).
