Glenastar Lodge is a period Hunting Lodge dating from the 1800’s . The house has been fully restored and renovated under the guidance of award winning designer Caroline Finnegan . Contemporary designs, art deco fittings mixed with period furniture and art are at the centre of this amazing property just launched on Air B&B . The House can accommodate 8 guests with additional capacity on request. The space On the cusp of The Wild Atlantic Way, nestled in the lush Golden Vale , and standing at The Gateway to Kerry, Glenastar Lodge, Ardagh, NewcastleWest is a stunning country house, perfect for gatherings with family and friends. Strategically located, this lovely house lies just 30 minutes from Adare and its award-winning Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Club which will host the Ryder Cup in 2027. To the west and just 40 minutes away, can be found the world-famous Ballybunion links golf course, a course which has won the admiration of world leaders and sportspeople including former US President Bill Clinton, Jack Nicklaus , Ian Woosnam , Nick Faldo , Steve Jones and Tiger Woods. In addition, there is a huge choice of other golf courses in the area, including Killarney and Doonbeg. While Glenastar offers treasure to the golfer, it is also a gateway to a range of fun and holiday experiences: from Atlantic swims to bike riding on the nearby Limerick Greenway: from pony trekking to beach walks and mountain trails; from galleries and boutiques to award-winning bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Movie and aviation buffs also have a treat in store at the Foynes Flying Boat Museum where the Maureen O’Hara Gallery is now home to her Oscar and other memorabilia from her life and films. If you want a taste of history, you can visit the Desmond Castle in Newcastle West, a 13th century stronghold of the Earls of Desmond or find out about about the 700-year history of the Knights of Glin, whose castle is Glin is now owned by a family descendant, Catherine Fitzgerald and her husband, film star Dominic West. But Glenastar is also a place made for those who seek a quiet, private space to relax and unwind, with its gardens, waterfall and woodland views. Built in the 1700s and recently renovated to the highest standards, Glenastar Lodge offers guests the best of Irish country house hospitality in a stunning setting. Antique furniture and original artwork are teamed with luxurious beds and linens and the finest of tableware to ensure our guests’ complete comfort, along with modern conveniences such as broadband and a mini-cinema. The house consists of eight bedrooms: four ensuite double bedrooms, a master bedroom double room, a single quirky room with its own bath , a further double room with the option of connecting to another single/ twin room via a Jack and Jill door . Reception rooms consist of the upstairs salon with double doors to a balcony overlooking the front of the house , a cozy snug with wood burning stove which formed the original cottage.. There’s a cosy library / reading room, a formal dining room and a fully equipped country kitchen/orangery with splendid garden views and a breakfast room. There is a separate entrance to a smaller apartment that forms part of the main house but can be used separately to include the main guests or not , the choice is yours . The kitchen opens out onto a sunny barbecue courtyard terrace with an outdoor kitchen overlooking the valley. The large outdoor dining area is the perfect spot for summer evenings Glenastar has underfloor heating, powered by eco-friendly technology allowior for comfortable adjustable heating and instant hot water. Glenastar Lodge also comes with a one-bedroom gamekeepers cabin which can accommodate up to four people and is available on request. The house has ample parking for all vehicles
