Family mountain retreat with spectacular views of the Sierra high country. Located in the gated community of Pine Mountain Lake. Only 25 miles from Yosemite National Park entrance, steps away from the Stanislaus National Forest, and minutes from the historic gold mining town of Groveland. The space Welcome to our home in Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, CA. High on the mountain with views on the east and west is a very well maintained home on this .54 acres of serenity. 3 bedroom 2.5 bath, 1848 square feet. The home comfortably sleeps 8. Have coffee on the deck and watch the sun rise in the morning, in the evening watch the sun set. The views from the main level inside home and outside on decks are knock-your-socks off. Deck wraps around with a seating area and a gas fireplace. Set up for outdoor enjoyment under the Oaks with a picnic table and fire pit for roasting s’mores galore! Kick off your shoes and step inside this stylish and updated family retreat that sits high on the mountain with spectacular views and all the comforts of home. The living area is on the main level, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking views from large picturesque windows. The dining area seats 6-8 with two more seats at the breakfast bar. The well stocked kitchen offers all you'll need to cook up your favorite meal with all the major appliances. Down the hall is a guest bedroom with Full size bunks; a half bath is just across the hall. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, a quiet office space, a full bath with a double sink vanity, and a large walk-in shower. Downstairs is perfect for movie night or a game of foosball. There is also another guest bedroom with a queen size bed and a private entrance from the outside patio area, located below the main entrance. The great room includes a large comfy couch, a chair to curl up in, a large smart TV and a queen Murphy bed. There is also a full bath and another entrance from the outside patio area where you will find seating for sipping your favorite beverage while taking in the fresh mountain air. Outside, the wrap-around deck offers seating around a relaxing gas fire pit and outdoor grill. On clear nights, enjoy stars like never before. No street lights to mar your view of the heavens, and yes, there really is a Milky Way. Down the steps, you will find a wood-burning fire pit, great for roasting marshmallows for your favorite S’mores, a picnic table for outdoor eating or throw a game of horseshoes located just above. Pine Mountain Lake offers amenities everyone is sure to love: Marina with swimming area, picnic tables, large grassy area and sandy beach. Rent a paddle boat or stand up paddle board at the marina store and grab lunch at the seasonal snack shack. There are 2 other lake beaches, fisherman's cove with children's playground. There is a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis and pickleball court, horseback riding, small airport, hiking trails and an 18-hole championship golf course and pro shop. Relax and dine in the outdoor dining area at the Country Club Grill and enjoy seasonal entertainment in the lounge. Nearby in Groveland is a market, dining and shopping, a library, museum, community park, and bike rentals, Yosemite Adventure Company and the famous Iron Door Saloon which is the oldest, continuously operating saloon in California. Perhaps the biggest draw to the home is it's proximity to Yosemite National Park; only 30 minutes to the northern entrance on Hwy 120 and another 25 miles to the valley floor. You'll want to plan and make a day of exploring the park, leaving early in the morning. Visit Yosemite Village where you will find a visitor center, groceries, gift shops, museum and bookstore, Glacier Point, Wawona and Tuolumne Meadows. You will want to check ahead for road closures and/or special events. Tuolumne County entertainment and activities include the Stanislaus National Forest, Tuolumne River, panning for gold and at Columbia State Historic Park, ride the rails at Railtown 1987 State Historic Park, Badger Pass and Dodge Ridge offer great snow play and skiing, boating on Lake Don Pedro, Underground caverns, vineyards and wine tasting, art galleries and museums, shopping, local brewing companies and tasting, live theatre shows, plenty of restaurants and shopping. More information is included in the digital guest guide. Guest access This home is in a gated community requiring a $48 access fee per vehicle, payable to the HOA upon arrival. Hosts have no control over this fee and is separate from the booking. The fee is subject to change without notice and is good for 7 days. Guests will need to pay the fee upon arrival at Pine Mountain Lake's main gate and they accept credit cards, debit cards, or cash. The fee is subject to change without notice. Guests will have access to the entire house. Guests will receive directions and the code to enter the home one to two days before arrival. There is parking for 4 vehicles: 2 or 3 in the lower parking area and 1 or 2 in the driveway off Alcan Ct. Please see the parking instructions in your arrival letter. Other things to note Guests must pay a $48 access fee per vehicle to enter the gated community upon arrival. The access fee is subject to change without notice. Due to the rural area, cell phone service can be spotty. There is free Wi-Fi, however during times of high population, Wi-Fi may get spotty as there is no broadband offered in the Groveland area. Please remove your shoes upon entry. Groveland is in a high-risk zone for PG&E rolling blackouts in the summer and storms in winter can also cause power outages. The great news is that this home has an automatic generator. Bring flashlights and extra batteries in case of unexpected issues with the generator. Candles are not permitted. Please drive carefully as there is active wildlife. Please do not feed wildlife. Keep small pets and children close as there are mountain lions and bears. Mountain Lions have been active in the area and there are reports of them attacking small pets. Bears and other wildlife have been active in getting into trash. Please keep all trash inside or locked in the trash bins provided. Do not let outdoor trash bins overflow or you will be charged an extra $50 fee for removal. GPS is not reliable in the area so make sure to print out directions. Yosemite may require reservations so be sure to check out their website or call for updated information on visiting and road closures. Tioga Pass is closed during winter months. During Winter months when heading to Yosemite, be sure to carry tire chains as they will be required within the park even if you have a 4 or All wheel drive vehicle.
