Beautiful comfortable cosy retreat , full of charm and character in the peaceful conservation village of Elton in the heart of the Peak District. This lovely cottage and village is surrounded by stunning views in spectacular countryside . A walkers delight!And great village park for kids. Location close to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Ashbourne, Matlock and Buxton gives easy access many historic and recreational attractions. Local pub in village ,other great pubs close by serve good food . The space This is a traditional Derbyshire stone cottage with enclosed garden , patio and conservatory ; well equipped home from home full of character features , combined with tasteful interior and modern amenities for your comfort . The cottage is attractively located in a row of three on a quiet road in the centre of this lovely historic village ,close to the village pub , church and small primary school . Off street parking as available opposite cottage . Great reviews from families , couples and friends just wanting a get away break together for great walking ,rest and relaxation . Great local walks from the door 25 mins walk up Elton Moor Lane is one of the best Peak National Park viewpoints. 30mins walk away -Catcliffe rocks, Robin Hood’s Stride viewed from back bedroom of cottage ,are popular with both climbers and walkers . 45 mins walk away is Birchover then up onto Stanton moor and famous Nine ladies Druid stone circle . Beautiful Lathkill and Bradford dale , with its stretch of safe but wild swimming at Youlgrave - all walkable from cottage . Within 15 /20 mins drive Bakewell , Matlock , Buxton Tissington trail , Dovedale , Monsal Dales , Stanage and Curbar edges and of course , historic Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Cottage Accommodation Attractive front garden with seating , Victorian outside light and boot scrapper ,leads you into the front door and useful entrance hall to put coats , leave muddy boots . For a cottage rooms are spacious and light. Living room has two double sofa ,one a bed sofa , central heating and stone character fireplace with cast iron gas log burner for instant heat and ambiance . Internet and Smart TV . Oak dining table and chairs with wine glasses , bone china plates and ambience battery candle lighting all available for a romantic meal . Well equipped full kitchen with all essentials for families including micro wave , double oven cooker ,air fryer and washer dryer. Kitchen table and seating area overlooking conservatory , attractive patio garden with seating and abundance of pots and plants .Conservatory offers an attractive useful additional space for adults to relax , children to play and with tiled stone flooring , a good place for your dog to sleep ! Two good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds and quality linens .Bedroom 1 with double bed ,vanity wash basin , wardrobe . Space for child travel cot available on request . Bedroom 2 has two full sized adult sized singles with extra single bed chair suitable for a child so accommodating four guests and child as guest five . The bed sofa in the living room could alternatively be used on request for one guest for flexibility of sleeping ;but please do make all guests clear on booking. Modern tiled bathroom has essentials provided , full sized separate cubicle shower and bath option , heated towel rail , vanity unit , toilet . - please note and take care with two tiled steps into kitchen and bathroom and two safety glass doors in living room if bringing children or elderly guests . Cottage may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties . Guest access All the cottage , front and back garden . Local park for children 5 mins walk . Street parking. Local bus service to Bakewell and Matlock - bus stop close by . Door key box for easy independent access . When entering Elton village best route is straight up Main Street towards church and little village school . Row of three cottages just before this .. 3 Sunnyside is end one with blue door . Off street parking opposite as available or just little further up on the right . Other things to note Nearest village community shop and two food good pubs 1 mile / 25 min walk away in Winster - it’s a nice walk to this rambling historic village worth a visit . Druids in Birchover - few mins drive , 45 to walk / great food lovely setting . Lathkill Dale hotel - beautiful setting 10 mins Bakewell / Matlock / Cromford 15 mins drive with lots of choice . The cottage and area has much to offer for romantic get away , walkers , climbers ,cyclists ,family break away. Dogs - up to two small or one larger well behaved dog on request ,if kept clean staying off furnishings and strictly not upstairs .
