Passage hut is an escape from the madding crowd, turn off your phone and enjoy the peace and quiet. The space Passage Hut is a 30 minute walk from the carpark. Enjoy the coastal views of Pepin Island through Native bush and lush landscape, revealing the stunning cable bay inlet. Arrive at the secluded seaside Passage Hut overlooking the natural peninsulas of Delaware Bay and the Pepin Island spit, where the ebb and flow of the tide is at your doorstep. Stay in the cosy and quirky private hut with breathtaking views of the ocean and inlet. Take time to enjoy the wild ocean scenery from the balcony, or take a short stroll from the hut to explore the secluded beach, with New Zealand coastal wildlife and hidden swimming spots. Savour the beauty of this charming hut with family, friends or a special loved one. A 3km, 30 to 40 minutes, around the inlet side of Pepin Island. Now fully gravelled, allowing your own 4WD vehicle around there - soon to be allowing 2WD! A basic, self catering kitchenette with a powered chilly bin, small camping gas stove, BBQ and fresh spring drinking water. Outdoor solar hot water bath with surrounding nature and ocean views. Solar shower, and composting toilet. Outdoor deck and seating areas with breathtaking views. Secluded beach and swimming spot a 5 minute walk away. Kayaks are complimentary for Passage Hut guests. Other things to note Passage hut is powered by solar, there is also a gas califont back up for the bath. If there is no sun the shower will not be hot. The hut is a 30 minute walk from the carpark. Please get in touch if you want to book a ride to the hut. This is an additional cost. There is no cell phone coverage at the hut, you can walk to a higher point to get coverage. Please bring a power bank as there is no option to charge your phone. While our beautiful island is still being built on, we're excited to welcome you to the getaways that are ready for you to enjoy!
