Historic Upstairs three Rooms

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. You will have the entire upstairs area with two mini fridges and three queen beds. The bathroom has waterfall shower, tub or regular shower. View sunsets off your private balcony and the sunrise from the sunroom. Relax in the front living living room and outside patio table. Extra day bed is in the quilt room for total of seven people if needed. Great place to unwind. The space This is an approximately 3 acre property with a large pond in the back. There are mature trees with some over 200 years old. The home was originally constructed in 1827 by Thomas Brooks with an upgrade in 1869 by his son Captain Brooks after civil war damage. The slave quarters were removed and those bricks used for a walkway under the balcony. The house is sturdy with extra thick hand made brick walls. It’s not fancy but very well built by Thomas Brooks who was George Washington’s head carpenter hired for work on the first presidents Virginia home and grounds in 1797. Thomas Brooks worked a couple years before George Washington died and a few years after before moving to Missouri. The graveyard next door ( as it used to be 1300 acres) is where Thomas Brookes is buried and he died in 1850 and moved to Missouri in 1815. His headstone can be seen if you take the short walk to see the graveyard.
