Charming log cabin with stunning views of both Rondane and Jotunheimen 20 min from Otta. Here you can enjoy peaceful days with spectacular nature right outside the door. Ulafossene is a 5-minute walk from the cabin and you can hear the roar of Ulafossene from the porch. The cabin is a perfect starting point for mountain trips in Rondane National Park, and several of Rondane's 2000 meter peaks. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Water must be carried in and there is an outhouse. The cabin has electricity, and there is a road all year round. The space Here you can start the mountain hike right outside the door, both summer and winter. From the cabin it is 4 km to the parking lot at Spranget, and from there it is 6.4 km to the DNT cabin Rondvassbu, the heart of Rondane. If you want to combine the mountain hike with a day of rafting in Sjoa, it is only a 30-minute drive from the cabin. The cabin can also be a base for those who like to fish in Lågen or in some of the many mountain lakes in Rondane. From the barbecue area at the cabin you have a lovely view of Jotunheimen in the west and Rondane in the north. In Otta city center you will find many grocery stores, restaurants and shops. Otta city center is about a 20 minutes drive from the cabin. Should you wish to have a meal served in the mountains, you can get it at Rondane Fjellstue, which is about 200 meters from the cabin. Check in advance if it is open during school holidays, there is also a small grocery store and a cafe in the center of Mysusæter 600 meters from the cabin. Opening hours depend on the season, so check in advance if it is open, we recommend shopping in Otta. Bedrooms: The cabin has two bedrooms, ideal for both families and groups of friends. There is a little sound between the rooms. One bedroom with a comfortable double bed. One bedroom with three single beds. Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to prepare good meals: Stove, hot plate and plenty of kitchen utensils. Coffee maker, kettle and a wood stove for extra warmth and comfort. A large kettle is available to melt snow in winter. Living room: The living room is nicely decorated with an open fireplace, perfect for gathering around the fireplace after a long day out. A large, comfortable sofa with down feathers provides a soft place to relax, while the dining table can be folded out to provide plenty of room for everyone. Extra chairs are available in the bedrooms. Practical information The cabin has electricity, but no running water. There is a water system that provides water in the tap, and the possibility of a quick shower in the basement with its own entrance. However, water must be carried in. Water can be collected at the service station 1 km away, there is a road all the way. Let us know if you do not have a car, and we will help you with a solution. Alternatively, guests can bring water themselves, and in winter it works fine to melt snow if you don't want to fetch water. Sanitary facilities There is a traditional outhouse available in the outbuilding in the yard. In addition, there is a camping toilet inside for urination. If this is used, it must be emptied by the guests before departure. Access The first time you arrive, we will open the gate for you, so we ask that you give us an approximate time of arrival. Please let us know if you arrive later than 11 pm. The rest of the stay you have a chip that you will find in the cabin, so you can open the gate yourself. Alternatively, upon arrival you can pick up the tag yourself from the cabin, as the gate is only 200 meters away from the cabin. If you want to use charcoal instead of wood, it must be brought by the guests. Dogs are welcome, but not in the beds and not on the couch. The plot is fenced, so the dog can run freely in the yard. But remember that there is a leash requirement all year round, and we ask dog owners to be careful with the sheep.
