Finca Cuipo - A Nature Lodge in Paradise.

Finca Cuipo is one of its kind in the rural area of Buritaca, Colombia. Located on a quiet hilltop, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, we will offer you a unique accommodation experience. Finca Cuipo offers two private wooden bungalows, featuring a cozy king-size bed, a private balcony, an exclusive outdoor shower and spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea. The space The common area (where meals are being served and the pool is located) is located on a top of the hill of the property, while the cabins are a short walk down hill. Guests should be able to climb stairs to access the bungalows. WIFI (Starlink) is available at the common area. Guest access The bungalows are separated from the common areas to give you privacy. Within small walking distance you will reach the common area and the infinity pool. Other things to note Adults only: Safety is extremely important to us. And although we love children, we respectfully only allow accompanied minors above 12 years at our finca. The finca is located in the mountains, in an open area without any fences and we also have a swimming pool which doesn't count with a fence either. Finca access: We are located in the mountains, about 1,6 km (1 mile) from the main road. The finca can be accessed by a 4x4 or a motorbike. If you visit us with your own vehicle that is not a 4WD, you may leave it in a parking spot near the main road and we help you to organize the transport to the finca. Kindly note, that the road to our finca is a dirt road! The nearest airport is in Santa Marta (SMR). Airport transfers can be arranged on request. Charges apply. Moving around the finca: Our bungalows are around 50 meters away from the common area, where the pool is located. To reach them, it is a short walk downhill. And if you would like to explore the finca and see the fruit trees, you should be motivated to walk up and down the mountain. It's a great workout :) Natural setting: Finca Cuipo is a distraction-free nature lodge: Having said that we do not have WIFI at the property and cell phone reception is limited due to the mountainous location. The bungalows do not have TV or radio. The bungalows do not have hot water, but we assure you that the warm climate invites for a fresh water shower from the mountains :). We advise our guests not to use the outdoor shower after 6 pm in order to avoid disturbance by insects or reptiles. Wild animals: Finca Cuipo is a nature lodge. Having said that we cannot avoid having wild animals & insects around. Every now and then we encounter them. It is rare, since they do not like our presence. But don’t you worry: They are friendly, as long as you are friendly :). We do our best to protect our guests from them (our bungalows have mosquito nets). Other risks involved in a rainforest include but are not limited to falling trees and branches. These risks exist while hiking, walking around our property or residing in any of our structures including the bungalows and common area. REFORESTATION: Create a forest by lodging at Finca Cuipo! Finca Cuipo tries to give back to nature for our and future generations and we thank YOU for your help! To encourage sustainability in the region we are working together with a small reforestation project called A Tree For Colombia to make a positive impact on nature, wildlife and people. We set the goal to contribute with planting 3,000 trees per year, so every time you make a booking, Finca Cuipo will make sure that the reforestation in this area can continue.
