The main, larger pod has two bedrooms each with a large en-suite bathroom. The first bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a full bed with a loft bunk bed above it. This is suitable for a child or teen up to 120lb. The Annex is the smaller pod with two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a small en-suite bathroom. In total, the property can sleep up to 8 adults and 1 additional child or teen up to 120lb. Full floor plan view available in photo gallery. Imagine sipping your morning coffee in bed, gazing through towering 16-ft high custom quadrilateral windows, where nature surrounds you and sometimes deer gently wander by. All bedrooms are designed for ultimate comfort, with five-star hotel-quality Helix mattresses and luxurious linens that make every moment feel like a retreat. ☆☆ KITCHEN + DINNING ☆☆ The main cabin boasts the open-concept with elevated slanted ceilings and a clear view of the forest and lakes. The high-end kitchen and dining area offer plenty of room to comfortably host group dinners and are outfitted with all the cookware, dishes, utensils, dishwasher pods, and appliances you will need to prepare delicious meals. The textured granite island can seat up to four, and there are also four seats available at the tulip dinning table. ☆☆ LOUNGE SPACES ☆☆ The living area in the main cabin is warm and welcoming, centered around a wood-burning stove that adds to the cozy, off-grid ambiance. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light and frame stunning views of the forest and lake. Sink into plush seating, gather around the fire, or enjoy a movie night on the large flat-screen TV. In the Annex cabin, the lounge offers a more intimate setting with a stylish leather daybed, a smaller bar area, and seating around a chic tulip table. It’s the perfect space for a quiet morning coffee, an evening drink, or a relaxed conversation. ☆☆ OUTSIDE SPACE ☆☆ The outdoor spaces at the Butterfly Pods are designed for relaxation, adventure, and connecting with nature. Wrap-around decks extend from the cabins, offering multiple spots to take in the stunning surroundings. While swaying in the in-deck hammocks, sipping your morning coffee, or gathering for sunset drinks, the decks provide the perfect vantage point. The solar-heated seasonal pool and wood-fired hot tub offer a rejuvenating escape. Take a dip during the day or soak under the stars for the ultimate off-grid indulgence. Down by the water, the private fishing dock invites you to cast a line or simply sit back and enjoy the peaceful lake views. For those looking to explore, grab one of our kayaks or the paddle board and venture out onto the lake for a tranquil paddle surrounded by nature. For cozy evenings, the fire pit is the perfect gathering spot, surrounded by classic Adirondack chairs. Roast marshmallows, share stories, or just enjoy the crackling fire under the starry night sky. An outdoor lounge set, dining table and weber charcoal grill provide the ideal setup for al fresco meals, whether it’s a casual breakfast or a long, lingering dinner with friends and family. Guest access You will have private access to the entire 5-acre property and both pods (cabins) for the duration of your stay, including the pool, hot tub, multiple living areas, full kitchen, and outdoor spaces. The lake pond is semi-private but it is rare that anyone else is using it. There is free parking available in the driveway. Detailed address and driving directions are provided before your arrival date. There is a lockbox with keys to enter the gated property and pods themselves. Other things to note We’re excited to welcome you to a peaceful retreat immersed in nature and designed to let you slow down, unplug, and enjoy an intentional way of living. As a fully off-grid property, the pods operate differently from a conventional home or hotel. We generate our own power, manage our own water, and work with the natural rhythms of the sun, weather, and seasons. These are an integral part of the experience, and we invite you to embrace the simple pleasures that come with off-grid living. Being mindful of our resources helps you make the most of that experience throughout your stay. After booking, you will receive a copy of our Butterfly Pods Experience Guide. This provides detailed information on how to prepare for your trip and how to use the amenities during your stay. There is also a printed copy inside the main pod for easy reference. Heating and cooling: - As an off-grid property, we balance solar power across essential appliances, pumps, and equipment. Our pods are equipped with mini-split air conditioning, but during periods of extreme summer heat, particularly when temperatures reach ~100°F or there are extended periods of cloud cover, the system may not maintain the same indoor temperatures as a conventional grid-powered home. At times, we may need to temporarily reduce or pause air conditioning to balance power across essential systems and equipment. We continuously monitor the system and use our propane generator to generate additional power, doing everything possible to keep the pods comfortable. - The annex pod tends to stay cooler than the main pod due to its smaller size and fewer heat-generating appliances, making it a great option for guests who prefer a cooler sleeping space during hot weather. - In spring and fall, little climate control is typically needed. - In winter, gas heaters supplement the mini-splits to keep the pods cozy, and the indoor fireplace can provide additional warmth. Additional appliances: - We ask guests to not bring any electrical appliances. Our power supply is carefully balanced for off-grid living, and additional appliances (e.g. hair dryers, griddles) can overload the system. CPAP machines are ok. Gas Oven: - The gas oven operates best between 300-350F. It is not ideal for high heat baking or roasting. The 4-burner cooktop is quick to heat and operates efficiently. We highly encourage guests to make use of our charcoal grill to enhance the off-grid experience. Security Camera: - We have a security camera located outside the pods. The camera is normally only used for live streaming to check on the property when guests are not in residence. However, it is capable of recording and may do so if we are alerted to unusual or prohibited activity (e.g., suspected parties, unauthorized extra guests, or damage). Internet: - We provide Starlink satellite Wi-Fi. As we're fully off-grid in very a rural, wooded location, the connection can occasionally be inconsistent. We recommend downloading any desired entertainment or work files ahead of time and embracing the chance to disconnect, slow down and enjoy nature while you're here. Pet Policy: - We don’t allow pets at the pods to ensure their safety and well-being. The property includes wide open spaces, wildlife, and direct lake access, which can pose unexpected risks for pets. We want to make sure all guests, including the furry ones, stay safe and stress-free. Additional Guests: - Unregistered guests are not permitted on the property; only the number of guests on your confirmed booking are allowed to stay. We may agree to additional day visitors with prior approval.
