Boutique Hideaway Hayling boasts modern and luxurious accommodation and is just a short 5-minute walk to the beach. Everything you could need is close by including: trendy cafes, takeaways, a cocktail bar, ice cream parlour, gift shops, convenience stores as well as traditional pubs offering live music and tasty meals. The Boutique Hideaway is close enough for convenience but far enough away to enjoy a quiet restful experience making this the perfect base to enjoy what the island has to offer. The space Boutique Hideaway is a clean, functional, modern, self-contained unit, semi detached to the rear of the main house, there is a kitchenette/king-sized bedroom and en-suite. There is seating for eating and this has been designed to also allow for the preparation of food. You can cook using the small hob complete with a modern worktop standing extractor and the kitchen facilities also include an air fryer and other essential kitchen/cooking utensils. The bathroom holds a large sink/basin, wardrobe, toilet and walk in thermostatic electric shower unit. There is significant storage for your personal items and food. Storage includes: 2 pull out drawers under the bed, bedside cabinets, a full height food storage cupboard and the large wardrobe mentioned above. We have also allowed space by the back door and next to the sink unit for storing luggage/bags. Guest access This is a self-contained unit so you will have your own front door to come and go as you please. You also have access to the patio area behind the gates. This gets the sun in the evenings and is the perfect spot to sit and relax. The accommodation is a semi-detached annex situated at the rear of the main property. Other things to note Facilities include: private access, off road parking for one car or small campervan, a generous ensuite, king-sized bedroom, self-catering facilities, free Wi-Fi, handy fridge to keep that wine, beer or milk cold and enough room to sit and enjoy meals. The accommodation even offers a private outside courtyard area to soak up the sun in the evening or to store windsurfing or kitesurfing equipment and bicycles making this the perfect base to enjoy what the island has to offer. Getting around without a car This is not a problem at ‘Boutique Hideaway Hayling’ as there are bus stops just outside the property. The number 30 and 31 bus runs regularly throughout the day and evening and gives you convenient links around the island and to Havant Train Station which has direct links to Portsmouth, Chichester, London and Brighton. In addition, the Hayling Ferry; a foot passenger ferry, bridges the gap across the mouth of Langstone Harbour to link Ferry Point on the west tip of Hayling Island with Eastney, Portsmouth on Portsea Island and coordinates several trips with buses to take you into the centre of Portsmouth. And if this is not enough to tempt you Hayling Island enjoys approximately 30% more sunshine than the UK average, making it an ideal holiday spot. Mengham, is the main shopping area on Hayling Island which is also close by and 1-2 minutes by car and a 10–12-minute walk away. West Town is another small shopping area which is 5 minutes by car. Jacket Required: Takeaway jacket potatoes their speciality. Open until 2pm. Domino’s Pizza: In Mengham, no need to explain what they serve! Groves Restaurant Bar: Also, in Mengham opposite Domino’s Pizza. Good tapas style food, also evening entertainment some weekends after 9pm. The very local venues - Less than 5 minutes walk: The Lifeboat: Excellent live music venue. A bit rough and ready but the music is often outstanding on Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons. The Olive Leaf: Excellent live music most weekends and special events as advertised. Bar 18: the local wine and cocktail bar, sometimes have live music. Groves Restaurant Bar, Mengham (10-15 mins walk): Sometimes hosts a DJ at weekends after 9pm. Station Theatre which hosts a variety of performances. 5 minutes by car. Getting around without a car: Local bus stop is positioned opposite the property no need for a car! Havant Train Station: 18 mins by bus non peak 25 mins peak times. Ferry Point and Hayling Ferry: 9 mins by car. (This is a foot and bike ferry) Attractions on the Island: Views of the Solent, Seafront: 5 min walk Hayling Billy Coastal Path (parking next to Station Theatre is free): 5 mins by car Northney Tidal Mill: 11 mins by car (opposite The Ship Inn, Langstone). West Town Service Wash, West Town: 5 mins by car Service Laundrette. Bus Route around Hayling Island and to Havant Bus station are Numbers 30 and 31. Basically, both buses do a loop around the island but in different directions. The number 30 will get you into Havant the quickest. Bus stop opposite the house is called Fishery Lane stop. The number 31 will get you back the quickest bus stop at the corner of Fishery Lane. However, whichever bus you get on you will end up passing the house at some point! Combined both bus routes in the main run every 15 minutes from bus stops on the Seafront. Bus 30 times into Havant from bus stop opposite (Fishery Lane Stop): 6:21am, 6:53am, 7:23am, 7:57am. The bus then runs at 27 and 57 past the hour until the evening as follows: 7:33pm, 8:13pm,9:03pm, 10:03pm, 11:03pm Bus 31 times leaving Havant bus station back to Hayling. The closest stop for coming back is the ‘Fishery Lane’ stop which is located at the end of Fishery Lane where it meets Rails Lane. Buses run from 35 mins past the hour starting at 5am and then at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour. Then slightly later from after 6pm as follows: 6:40pm, 7:20pm, 8:00pm After 9:00pm you may need to catch either the 30 or 31 to get home. Both buses will drop at the Fishery Lane stop. Remember though the 30 journey is 35 mins and the 31 takes just 18 mins! 9:00pm (31), 9:30pm (30), 10:00pm (31), 10:30pm (30), 11:30pm (31) last bus home! A taxi between Havant and the Hideaway will cost roughly £20 depending on the operator and time. The Havant taxi rank is at the Havant train station.
