Where the sea meets the jungle: “El Darien”, home to the greatest biodiversity on Earth for your enjoyment. It takes 1.5 hours speedboat ride from Turbo port in the Urabà Gulf to get to the Trigana Bay with splendid landscapes and a great variety of wildlife and plants. The space The place is provided with all that is essential to enjoy unforgettable moments surrounded by a great diversity of animals, birds & insects. You can snorkel in the Caribbean Sea observing fish with thousand shapes and colors. If you’re lucky you can even spot a sea turtle. From April to June, you can go to “Playona” and “el Playón de Acandí” which is a ride away and where you can witness the amazing nesting and birth of the Leatherback sea turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) the biggest turtle on Earth, a living fosil. In the surrounding areas, if you like to walk you can do extraordinary trekking along the coast and in the interior of the forest on the mountainous littoral of Tripogadí. The Sasardí Natural Reserve and first ecovillage in Colombia, together with many other beautiful sites and landscapes. Guest access You can avail of the entire place together with your family and friends. You will find all the necessary for a nice stay. Kitchen with gas, kitchen implements, on the bay you can buy food to prepare yourself or taste the local dishes and specialities. The house normally has 5 hours of electricity in the afternoon until the evning, then you may use candles (taking good care since the whole house is a wooden one). Shower, toilet, washing sink, terrace to lie down and look the sky at night with a great view of stars and the moon. 70-80 mts from a sandy and calm beach with 25 C degrees in the water all over the year. You may have the chance to swimm in the caribbean sea at night with the flourescent microplancton, an spectacular experience. During your stay Rosita, the friend who is in charge of the house will take good care of you with whatever you may need and/or any travel and trekking you would like to take along the coast or into the forest. Other things to note There are several interesting places around where you can go trekking to other beaches like Sardi (you must be careful with the waves, have a hangover that can be dangerous), the Integral Reserve and Ecovillage Sasardí a wildlife refuge and the first ecological village in Colombia, the hamlet of San Francisco, Patio Bonito, and several special and particular sites.
