Summer Harbor Cabin

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful retreat! Summer Harbor Cabin is located in the quaint village of Winter Harbor with coastal views of Cadillac Mountain and minutes from Schoodic Point. Board the Winter Harbor Ferry to reach Bar Harbor and Mt Desert Island with ease. A perfect location for anyone wishing to enjoy the quieter side of Acadia National Park, while staying close to great food, hiking, biking, and kayaking! See “Other things” for more details about park accessibility. The space Hand built by a fourth-generation lobsterman, this house is a one-of-a-kind experience. We welcome you to enjoy a beautiful view of Acadia National Park and Egg Rock lighthouse, while enjoying all the amenities of our home away from home. We strive to offer you a natural, holistic atmosphere in all aspects. We use all non-toxic cleaning products and detergents, and we have a four-stage Aquasana water filtration system with a UV light that filters the water throughout the home. We welcome dogs at the house and have food bowls ready for your use. Unfortunately, due to allergies, we can’t allow cats in the house. Please note that the home is elevated for the benefit of an amazing view! There is a flight of steps to enter the first floor. Kitchen & Dining Whip up a hearty breakfast before your hike, or enjoy a lobster feast at the end of your day of adventures. Our kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals for your family or group! Our dining table seats 8 comfortably, overlooking the view. Basement & Laundry A walk-out basement offers a mud room area for gear, washer and dryer, a slop sink and prep area (perfect for prepping seafood!), and a game table for rainy-day cards or puzzles. A set of Bowflex adjustable weights and workout mat can be found here as well. Bedrooms Enjoy a second-floor master bedroom with a King bed and sitting area. Wake up to a beautiful coastal view and enjoy a morning brew from your own private coffee setup. Also on the second floor is a half bath, and a second bedroom with a bunk bed and a Queen bed overlooking our deep Maine woods outback. On the first floor, adjacent to a full bath, is a large bedroom with a Queen bed and workspace. Here you will find a printer, desk, and basic office supplies. Outdoors We invite you to once again enjoy the coastal view and breezes under shade outside, where we have a grill, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs. There is an oversized fire pit area with built in benches surrounding it. Relax beside a campfire in the cooler Maine evenings under the stars. An outdoor shower is available as well! Guest access Enjoy Summer Harbor Cabin as if it was your home away from home! Other things to note Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island (MDI) is about an hour drive from the house. Another way to reach the island is to board the Winter Harbor ferry (Downeast Windjammer Cruises) just down the road. Enjoy a scenic and informational ride to Bar Harbor, where you can then utilize the Island Explorer buses to access the park. The beautiful Schoodic Peninsula is a part of Acadia National Park on the mainland. The entrance is 2 miles down the road! It is a quieter experience with fewer crowds, still known for its dramatic granite coastline, stunning ocean views and hiking trails. We love the accessibility of Schoodic, as it allows you to stop in and out frequently throughout your stay, even if you just want to grab your dinner and head into the park to catch the sunset!
