Guest Suite plus shared house
Guest Suite plus shared house
Description
Welcome! This is a 2-bedroom suite with a bathroom that is only yours, plus full access to the rest of the house (except host bedroom). Your host lives on the other side of the house and shares the open spaces: full kitchen, living room, dining area, and patios. Private entrances to each bedroom. Please note that there is no door separating the suite from the main house (except bedroom doors of course); the hallways are shared, including the laundry nook, though the host uses these sparingly. The space Enjoy this acre of beautiful high desert, mountain views, and trail walks from the door, yet minutes from shops and 20 min from town, in a peaceful country suburb. The house is light-filled and passive solar with Santa Fe style charm. Nearby are trail walks of all kinds, mountain walks, shops, playgrounds, the Santa Fe "land of enchantment," and a renowned ski valley! Bedrooms: Both bedrooms have queen-sized beds. The first mattress is memory foam, and the other is a firm mattress. There is also a mini mattress available for a toddler, a single sofa bed possibly more suitable for a teen than an adult, and a crib. The bedrooms have private entrances to the outdoors if needed, but guests are also welcome to use the main front door. Bathroom: Bath, shower, toilet, and sink. Towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste provided. A Cat Lives Here: Our shy cat also occupies the house, so it is important that you are comfortable with that, and that no one in your group is allergic to cats. You are welcome to close your door, so she doesn’t go into your room, and most people never even see her. The Kitchen has gas stove/oven, dishwasher, toaster oven, electric kettle, fridge/freezer, drip coffee maker, French press coffee-maker, espresso maker, a proper tea pot, Cuisinart food processor, and popcorn popper. Most of the house has open-beam ceilings called vigas, along with ceiling fans, and there is air conditioning throughout. In winter, we use central heating, and you can control your own environment and windows. All rooms except bathrooms have bookshelves, so you can curl up with a good book whenever you want. Wireless Internet speed is fast and reliable. TV Digital (Amazon Fire smart TV) Netflix and Hulu. Clothes Washer, Dryer, and Dishwasher Kid-friendly: games, toys, and children’s books. Crib. STR Registration Number : STRO-40019. Permit Number 23-6048 Taxes you pay: New Mexico State Gross Receipts Tax at 7% and Santa Fe County Lodger's Tax at 4%, all included in your total. (Luckily, both of these are less than the city taxes.) Guest access You have access to nearly everything except the hosts' bedroom/bathroom. You are welcome in the kitchen, living room, dining area, patios, courtyard, etc. There are times that the house is available without the hosts present; see “High Desert Home, Two Acres, Nature Trails,” or enquire by message. We may be wheelchair accessible as far as getting into the house, but contact me to make sure we can meet your specific needs. There is a small step to one guestroom from the inside, and some gravel in the driveway; unfortunately we do not have grab bars or other accommodations for disabled guests. A major grocery store and other services are about two miles away. A farmer's market takes place on Friday afternoons in the neighborhood, and Saturday mornings in town during the season. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE that this house is an ordinary home with imperfections and quirks, so you should be someone who is comfortable in casual surroundings. Closets include some of our belongings, but also plenty of space for yours. You will find it clean, sunny, cheerful, and a creative bright space. All occupants, including infants, must be included in the total guest count. PRIVACY -- we allow you privacy while offering help when needed; generally we are on the other side of the house or available by phone or text. Remember that there is an indoor kitty on site, so ask your group if they have any allergies or aversions to cats.
