Sinkyone Wilderness Getaway at Whale Gulch

Cathy's Place is as close as it gets to the the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park, and the south end of Lost Coast. This is a true remote wilderness paradise. This is the last wild untouched area of California. It is the closest lodging to the Sinkyone trails and Needle Rock Visitors Center. We offer a true off grid experience and a lovely place to rest after long days hiking or biking. If its peace you are looking for you've got it! The space Cathy’s Place is a hand built custom home built in 1968 quintessential back to the land homestead. Comprising of a hand built pentagon with high redwood ceilings and a kitchen with a step down living room with large windows. Step out onto a birds-eye view covered deck and walk to the upstairs first bedroom with a queen bed surrounded by windows and skylights for the best view in the house. Down another level to the second bedroom suite which has xl king bed and a futon twin fold down sleeper for one. There is an en-suite bath with tub shower with skylights and windows, and a separate toilet closet around the other side of this big comfortable room. Look out the north side windows from a sweet little reading nook with a comfy rocking club chair and stool. Guest access The whole house is for use this is an off grid home with solar and hydro power so energy conservation is necessary. No motorized vaccums, blow dryers, blenders, or high power machines. For long stays or for a a small fee someone can turn on the power for laundry. The house powers lights, charges phones, devices, etc. Take care to turn off unnecessary power when not in use and you will have abundant energy for your stay. There is a studio and shed on the upper flat which unoccupied but is private for the owner. Other things to note This house is comfortable but it is built on many levels with stairs, dirt walkways and slopes, this should be considered if physically impaired.
