This is the private lodging "Mother House" in the forest at the edge of Honshu, limited to one group per day. I live with my family of four (father, mother, 9-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy) + 1 cat in the forest of the Mukogahama Peninsula, about 5 minutes by car to the northwesternmost tip of Honshu, Cape Kaijiri. The owner's family lives in the adjacent building (on the same property), so you can enjoy the privacy of the guest room. (Please note that children may sometimes come to say hello. The bath is shared with the owner, and will be exclusively for guests from 2026.) There are many evergreen forests on the Mukogu Peninsula, and the rice terraces and sea are very beautiful. Collecting firewood in the mountains, swimming in the summer, watching the stars while making a campfire in the winter... Soil, water, mud, sand, leaves, branches, vines, nuts, waste. Everything there becomes a toy, and children play creatively. Adults, please take your time. I think you can experience the comfort of regaining the sense of your five senses by naturally harmonizing with nature. * Motonosu Shrine is about 30 minutes away by car * About 30 minutes by car to Kakushima ※ You can see the sea in about 20 minutes on foot, and it is also recommended for a walk. ※ 5 minutes by car, 25 minutes on foot to the northwesternmost tip of Honshu, Cape Kawajiri (scenic view, sunset, free campsite). The space The 2 Japanese-style rooms with 6 tatami mats are the living spaces for guests. You can see the garden and trees from the veranda. There is a bathroom and a bath. ・ There is a dining space and a simple kitchen adjacent to the Japanese-style room, where you can do simple cooking. (There is a refrigerator, microwave, IH cooking heater, rice cooker, water heater, etc.) - About the bath Hot water is supplied to the stainless steel bathtub. (Hot water shower available) If you want to experience a wood bath, you can collect wood and cook it in a wood boiler. (Additional cooking is possible) There is a washing machine in the dressing room. ・ About the toilet The toilet is a simple flush toilet. There are precautions for use, which we will explain upon arrival. In addition, the accommodation is currently under construction. ※ Library and workspace will be set up on the 2nd floor (from 2026) ※ The Western-style room connected to the Japanese-style room will be renovated (from 2026) Guest access In addition to the 2 Japanese-style rooms, toilet, and bath, there is a simple kitchen, garden, field, and a mountain behind the house. During your stay 1. The host family lives next door. (2 children) During the day on weekdays, the children go to school and kindergarten, so it is quiet, but it gradually becomes lively from 3:30 pm. If you are a group with children, please feel free to play with them. Of course, adults are welcome too (lol) 2. If you wish, meals can be provided by reservation. In that case, it will be provided in the food and beverage business space on the premises. (Additional charge) Sit around the table with the host family and eat together. 3. I have a cat. If you leave the window open, it may come in, so please be careful. Other things to note 1. The bath will be shared with the owner during 2025. Please discuss the timing, etc. with us and use it in shifts. 2. We live on the same premises with children, and the children look forward to interacting with guests every time. We would be happy if you could interact with them as long as it is not a bother. If you have children, they often get along well and play together. 3. Please be quiet after 9 pm. 4. Because it is a rural area, insects may enter. Thank you for your understanding.
