Just 1.5 miles from downtown Ely, on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, the house has four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a beautiful and well-equipped kitchen, multiple indoor and outdoor common areas, a dock and boat lift and heated garage- insuring you‘ll have everything you need to enjoy boating, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, and relaxing for your time away. The space The house is at the end of a private drive, providing you a quiet base camp for all of your activities. The downstairs has a large and well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, beautiful custom hickory cabinets, a designated drinks refrigerator, chest freezer and everything you’ll need to whip up delicious meals in the house or on the gas grill on the back patio. The kitchen opens into a large dining area with a table that seats up to 12. The living room is a cozy space centered around a gas fireplace and a view of the lake and surrounding forest, a great place to gather to sip your morning coffee, play board games, read your book, or toast the end of a fun-filled day. There are four bedrooms, two downstairs and two upstairs. The largest is downstairs and includes a giant bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, and large walk-in closet. The other downstairs bedroom is an office with a very comfortable futon bed. The rooms upstairs both have queen-size beds and share a full bath. In addition there is a HUGE finished play room. Outside on the back deck there is a large table with chairs - perfect for enjoying evening cocktails while listening to loons on Longstorff Bay. Closer to the water is a Solostove firepit, waiting for your s’mores and ghost story entertainment. A short path leads you down to the sandy beach, dock and boat lift and the excellent fishing and boating Shagawa Lake offers up. In winter you can park your snow machines in the heated garage, thaw yourself out by the fire and dry your gear in the well-equipped laundry room. The house is half a mile from hundreds of miles of bike trails in the summer and snowmobile and Nordic ski trails in the winter. Town is less than five minutes away, making it easy to grab any last minute ingredients, have a delicious meal in one of the many great restaurants in Ely, do some window shopping or rent gear you may need for all of the fun adventures you can have in the area. Guest access The whole house and property, including dock and boat lift in the summer, are yours to use and enjoy.
