Farmhouse on the river!

Relax at this peaceful farmhouse set on 16 acres of river front access to the North Fork River. An 1860s historic farmhouse refurbished with modern amenities, it is the perfect getaway retreat and is strategically located near historic sites, recreational resorts, and the best wineries in the Shenandoah Valley. Enjoy a view of the river from the front porch, or take advantage of the two TVs with internet. This house has something for everyone! The space There are two RV hookups on each side of the house. They accommodate both 30 and 50 Amps and have a water source for each. The seven sleeping spaces are made up of one queen, two doubles, and one twin. There is also a queen sized air mattress (8/9 sleeping spots) available. There is a large barn on the property that is being remodeled. It is an eye sore, but it does not obstruct the views. We have games and activities that we can leave out for you on request: Corn-hole boards, a kids life size connect four game, and plastic "axe" throwing with a target for kids. There is a gas bbq on the side porch with utensils. The river is good for fishing depending on the time of year. Most of the year, it is shallow enough to wade in. You can also tube/kayak from the front of the house and drift until the other side of the property (about 100 meters). Or, you can put in at the front of the house and float downstream until you hit the New Market bridge, a 1+ hour trip depending on the current. We have a canoe with oars on the property, but you must bring your own life vests and helmets (if needed). We allow at least two pets, but we ask that you help keep the inside of the house clean and free from excess fur. Guest access Guests will be given the arrival instructions per AirB&B protocols which will include the combo for a key lock box. The box is attached to the middle pillar on the side porch next to the main door, you can't miss it. There is a ring camera facing the driveway. It faces the driveway to provide guests with maximum privacy while still securing the house in between guest visits. Other things to note We do not allow large parties. We did for awhile, but have been burned by young people having too good of a time and damaging the property.
