You will enjoy friendly, helpful hosts who are proud of their home and care deeply for the land they have been graced to live upon. You will find all the necessities to cook, sleep, shower and have fun! We are sure you will not want to leave. We are queer friendly! We love people of all races, nationalities, religions and ethnicities. We have traveled and lived all over the world and we love to host international visitors, as well as domestic guests. Farm: Valley's End Farm is located in the Umpqua Valley, and has been an organic hobby farm for many years. The hosts have lived on the farm and restored and remodeled their century farm house for over 40 years. The main Umpqua river below the tiny house is prime for kayaking, swimming, fishing and boating. The farm is only a half mile from a boat ramp. It is only a short drive to wineries such as Reustle, Melrose and Abacela; the well-known Lighthouse Bakery (amazing vegetarian lunch and bakery items!) is around the corner; and a beautiful 25-mile bicycle loop runs past the farm. The tiny house is on the opposite end of the farm from the main house; the neighbor's house is visible up the hill, however it is screened by trees - therefore the space feels very secluded and private. This area is a farming region, so there may occasionally be agricultural activity or distant noise going on in the valley, however you will find it to be an incredibly peaceful getaway from the world! In the summer months we host a small u-pick on the other side of the property for berries, plums and other fruit. Sometimes we host sheep in the field up the hill from the house. House: The tiny house is a recently remodeled cozy gem with a gorgeous view from every angle. It is quiet and shaded, with an efficient split ductless unit that keeps it cool and fresh during heat waves with AC, and cozy and warm when weather is brisk. There is dedicated high speed wi-fi and a TV with streaming apps in the loft. The tiny house has a bathroom area with a bathroom sink and a tiled shower (Height: 6'3") with hot water and a river view, with optional privacy curtains separating the space. The toilet is an outdoor porta potty just near the house, only 20 steps away and a chance to moon gaze as you walk! The kitchen includes running well water, a two-burner induction cooktop, a sizeable toaster oven (large enough for a small pizza), basics like olive oil, sugar, salt/pepper and an outside gas grill. Pots, pans, dining ware, silverware, cups, mugs, etc. included in the house. A large freezer is outside, under the tower next to the house. There is a mini portable washing machine and outdoor clothesline. Everything you need for your getaway! PLEASE NOTE: This property may require the ability to climb and descend a library ladder to the loft for the queen bed, or descend/ascend a moderately steep incline (with steps) for the path to the river beach. The single bed is on the ground floor, so a guest with minor mobility concerns will be able to enjoy the space after just a few stairs to the door. Sleeping Spaces: The main bedroom is the upstairs loft, with a comfortable queen mattress, accessible by climbing a sliding library ladder. The tiny house includes a small back room that can be used either as an office/work area (foldable desk) or as a second sleeping area (fold up bed with memory foam mattress). A fourth single sleeping mat is available for the floor in the living room area, or we can provide a Graco collapsable crib. Dogs: We accept two small dogs or one large dog inside the tiny house. One additional dog is acceptable for the tent space. There are other small dogs on the farm and on the property next door, but they stay on the other side of the property and won't get through the fence. The field where the tiny house is located is fenced in, so dogs can run free if the gate is closed. We have a dog blanket and bowls available in the house. Dogs can be left alone for a few hours as long as they do not destroy anything - guest responsible for the cost of any damage. Outdoor Patio and Tent Space: The patio has tables and chairs for up to 8. There is a propane fire pit, hammock chairs, potable water source, and gas grill. We accept reservations for a fee for one extra outdoor tent (to be pitched anywhere in the field near the house) if reserving the tiny house, with a maximum of 8 people total in house (max 4) and tent (max 4) combined. Inquire with owner upon reservation. Guests may bring their own tent or rent a large tent from owners. Additionally, the owner has a second Airbnb camper trailer on the property that can be rented ("Valley's End Hideaway - Camper/RV" Umpqua, OR), which is located at a site on the other side of the property next to the main house - a 7 minute walk from the tiny house. No outside RV's will be accepted. River Beach: The path and river beach directly below the house are reserved solely for Tiny House guests. Occasionally the owners will make use of their beach just down the way, so they may be occasionally visible or audible (but not sharing the space); the neighbors may use the beach on their adjacent property, farther down toward the bridge. However, the tiny house beach is solely for use of guests. The long stretch of deep river running in front of the house is a well known fishing hole - sometimes small fishing boats or kayaks may go by. However, much of the day you will find yourself alone with only the raptors for company. Two kayaks are available for use, as well as life jackets - the river in front of the tiny house is calm and deep and good for all ages and levels (of course guests swim and kayak at their own risk). We provide life jackets, beach chairs, beach towels, shade tent and a beach umbrella. The path leading from the Tiny House to the private beach has steps for most of the incline, however it can be moderately steep and may be difficult for guests with mobility issues. Electric Vehicles: There are charging stations (Tesla and Electrify America) in Sutherlin, 6 miles away. Regional area: Valley 's End Farm is 6 miles from the town of Sutherlin and 15 miles from the town of Roseburg. The stunning natural wonder Crater Lake is a few hours away, a beautiful drive through the Umpqua National Forest and following the North Umpqua river, a renowned fly fishing river. To get there, you will pass the Umpqua hot springs, Toketee Falls, Lemolo Falls and Diamond Lake. Award-winning wineries are plentiful in the Umpqua Valley, some only a few miles away - the new Napa! The coast is only an hour drive on back roads through forests, farmland and mountains. The wildlife Safari, a well known drive-through game park, is a half-hour drive to the town of Winston. We are excited for you to come stay on Valley's End Farm! Guest access House has lockbox access. Private pathway to private river beach, driveway to tiny house is gravel and accessible by car, with a few gates. Tiny house area is fenced in. There may be other guests or owners and their dogs at beach down the property or on adjacent property. Other things to note 2 Beds - 1 Queen, 1 single; 1 Sleeping mat for the floor; Collapsable Crib; 1 available tent space. Additional Airbnb rental at the other side of the property - nice camper/trailer.
