The space About Our Cozy Loft in Nevada City Welcome to your serene getaway in Nevada City, ideally located just a short stroll from the bustling downtown area. This cozy loft, perfect for 1-2 guests, offers a comfortable queen-size bed, a tall retro refrigerator, a microwave, and an electric kettle, making your stay both relaxing and convenient. Enjoy the modern comforts of a large TV, Wi-Fi, and Hue lighting that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The loft is situated above our detached garage, and while it's a peaceful space, you may occasionally hear the garage door during the day. Access to the loft requires walking up stairs to the second story. For those on the taller side, please be mindful of the slanted ceilings, which add charm but could feel snug. Step outside onto your private deck equipped with rocking chairs—perfect for sipping your morning coffee or unwinding in the evening. Although we are near the highway, the homey feel and slight hum of the freeway add to the urban-meets-rural charm of the area. Nevada City is always buzzing with activity, from live music and art openings to vibrant festivals and outdoor adventures along the Yuba River. Whatever brings you here, we're excited to share our slice of paradise with you. As your host, I'm here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Inside the loft, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fridge, microwave, plates, glasses, electric hot water kettle, and utensils. Welcome to our cozy corner of the Sierra Foothills.! Other things to note (1) Portable Heater - We added a portable heater to the unit awhile back. On occasion, it can trip the breaker if it is moved from its current spot or if too many other appliances are running at the same time. The wall heater works fine, so the portable heater is not really necessary. If the breaker trips, please let us know, and we can reset it at the electrical panel on the outside wall of the garage facing the street, next to our generator. If we are not available or do not respond quickly enough, you can also reset the tripped switch yourself. This has only happened a handful of times (at most) over the past year, so it is unlikely, but we wanted our guests to have the information just in case. (2) Do Not Lock Door Handle - Please do not lock the door handle. Use only the deadbolt smart lock when leaving. If the handle lock is engaged, you will not be able to re-enter without our assistance. We are happy to help if needed, but we may not always be immediately available, which could cause delays.
