Welcome to our large & bright farmhouse along Nova Scotia's Northumberland Strait. Our spacious home & private 2-acre lot offer ample space for rest & family gatherings. We're close to scenic trails, ocean views & the Malagash market; 10 mins to Blue Sea beach & Wallace, 12 mins to Tatamagouche & ~20 mins to Pugwash, Fox Harbour resort & Wentworth! 10 guests: 2 queen, a double/twin bunk bed, a single futon, 2 twin beds & twin pull-out sofa bed. Cots for up to 12 guests, pets & events by request. The space Maritime Ocean Farmhouse Overview Welcome to our much expanded farmhouse minutes from the ocean’s toss! Our home offers ample family space (maximum 10 people). The light and redesigned kitchen and dining room seat 8 and we have a card table for 4. There is also a cozy nook with seating for 4 in the sun room. There are 2 quaint bathrooms with tubs and new shower heads, and the ground floor bathroom has a luminous sky light and whirlpool tub with jets! We have 2 living rooms; one off the kitchen with a lovely love seat and twin day bed. The second is a spacious living room with 2 couches (1 a small double sofa pullout bed), a relaxing arm chair and a work desk. We provide Wi-Fi, a smart Roku TV, books and games! There is ample parking and a steel garbage storage bin at the end of the driveway for garbage and recycling. Throughout the winter, the county reliably plows our road and we plow the driveway. You may need to clear pathways. Guest access The whole house and detached garage to access the BBQ. The attached garage, red barn/shed, basement and master bedroom closet will be locked. Other things to note Our property is on a peninsula that is surrounded by ocean and within minutes of multiple breathtaking coastal views. We are 10 minutes from the Blue Sea Provincial Park beach, and the villages of Tatamagouche and Wallace. The Malagash Market General Store is within walking distance and we are minutes away from Jost's Vineyards, Vista Bella farm's cidery and orchard, along with impressive nature trails like the Trans Canada trail. Fox Harbour golf resort is a lovely seaside golf courses less than 20 minutes away and more courses within a 1 hour drive. We are also under 30 minutes to Ski Wenworth. Malagash, a peninsula off the scenic seascape highway 6, is on unceded Mi'kmaq land meaning "land of games." The area was primarily settled by English and Scottish immigrants. In addition, Canada's first salt mine, Malagash Salt Company ran from 1918-1959. We encourage you to visit the Malagash Salt Mine Museum to learn more about the local area. Wallace, a picturesque rural village, less than 10 minutes away has naturally beautiful seaside vistas whether driving, walking trails or perusing the harbour, river or bird sanctuary. Various necessities, i.e., accommodations, restaurants (Wiley's By the Wharf), and shops are available, along with museums (Wallace and Area Museum - includes nature trails) and golf courses (Wallace River Golf Course) nearby. The vibrant and lively seaside village of Tatamagouce is less than 15 minutes away. It's welcoming maritime feel is close to several warm water beaches. As a sought after destination it offers abundant food options (Big Al's Family Restaurant, Chowder House on Main, Derado’s Pizzeria, Meh’s Chinese Take-out, The Nook & Cranny & Train Station Inn), including the Tatamagouche Creamery farmer’s market on Saturday's from 9am-noon. There are abundant festivals and art events (Grace Arts Centre), many craft and clothing stores, museums (Creamery Square Heritage Society and others), the Tata brewery, hospital, pharmacy, grocery store, liquor store, gas station and bank. The coastal village of Pugwash is a about 20 minutes away! It is world famous for it’s tranquil harbor close to beaches, the Seagull Pewter gift shop amongst other gift stores, and Northumberland Links Golf Course and Fox Harb'r Resort. In addition to a hospital, dental office, pharmacy, grocery store, liquor store, bank, Pugwash is home to Windsor Salt which produces over 1 million tonnes of salt per year.
