Farmhouse Stay- large, open spaces

The Farmhouse is on an Angus cattle farm rural Summerhill, New York. Enjoy a morning coffee watching the sunrise on the porch, an evening watching the sunset, and stargazing by the campfire making s’mores. This space combines vintage and mid-century modern with contemporary comforts and amenities. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Cortland, 30-40 minutes from Skaneateles, Ithaca, Syracuse, Auburn, and 50 minutes from Binghamton. This is a great place to unwind after exploring Central NY. The space The Farmhouse is an Angus cattle farm located in the rural township of Summerhill, New York. Enjoy your morning coffee watching the sunrise on the porch, an evening watching the sunset, and stargazing by the campfire making s’mores. Kitchen stocked with pans, dishes, and utensils. Sheets and towels provided. This space combines vintage and mid-century modern with contemporary comforts and amenities. The Farmhouse is perfect for singles, couples, friends & families to gather and enjoy a relaxed country atmosphere. It is an 1800s home that has been recently renovated with modern amenities mixed with vintage features. Decorated to evoke a warm feeling of being home with your family. The house is surrounded by farm and woodlands. This means guests will likely see farm animals and wildlife. Our Angus cattle and Tunis sheep seasonally graze the pastures around the farmhouse. The chicken coop provides fresh eggs daily (let us know if you would like some). Common wildlife seen include songbirds, squirrels, and woodchucks. Sightings of fox and deer are not uncommon. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home. ENTRY The entry room has wide variety of board games, a foosball table, and a large white board to keep you entertained. KITCHEN The kitchen is open to the dining room to make for great family dinners. It is fully stocked with cookware, dishware, glassware, utensils, coffee maker, and staples (spices, coffee to name a few). LIVING ROOM From the living room, you can see dramatic sunsets. The living room has two couches, a loveseat, a recliner, and a smart TV for you to access your preferred apps. There is also a bin of kid’s toys. BATHROOM/ LAUNDRY The old meets new bathroom has a vintage claw foot tub with a rainfall showerhead. The large farmhouse sink has two mirrors above and plenty of counter space. There is a washer and dryer for your use. Towels provided. OFFICE The main floor also has an office if there is need for work to be done on your stay. This space also has a futon that can accommodate another person at night. LANDING The upstairs landing is a cozy area with two club chairs and a library stocked with books for young and old. BEDROOMS The East bedroom is spacious with a sunrise view of the pasture from the loveseat. A king size bed gives you plenty of sleeping room. The Middle bedroom has two queen beds and is great for kids and adults alike. The West bedroom is another spacious room with a loveseat for quiet time and another king size bed. Portable crib and child gate for the curved staircase available upon request. Additional twin bed can be set up in any bedroom upon request. Other things to note CAMPFIRE There is a designated fire pit area for your evening campfires. You will be provided with enough for one evening. More is available for purchase. INTERNET High speed WIFI available. HEAT/AC There is central heat/ac on the main floor and each bedroom has its own heat/ac unit. COUNTRY LIFE This is a country home, we do our best to keep pests at bay but spiders can be quick at making webs and bugs find their way in sometimes. During certain points of the year (fall), there may be a presence of cluster flies in the upstairs windows (mainly facing the West). We do all that we can to deter them prior to guest arrival. Mowing occurs once per week - we will be in and out of property as quickly as possible. We have exterior security cameras for security and your safety. Be sure to register all guests staying/present in the home. Tampering with the cameras in any way will result in immediate rental termination and a $500 fee. Deep cleaning fee of $500 charged for any unregistered pets. Due to having livestock on the property, pets are not allowed. As a part of check out procedures, guests are responsible for making sure all personal belongings are collected. We cannot be responsible for forgotten/left behind items. PARTIES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED-UNREGISTERED EVENTS WILL BE SHUT DOWN BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ESCORTED OFF PROPERTY. NO REFUNDS. $1000 FINE. Accessibility information: The home is not ADA compliant. This home is a 2 story home. The entrances all have 2 or more steps. The shower is inside the claw foot tub. There are no separate showers. Bedrooms are all on the second floor. Parking in front of The Farmhouse garage is available for guests, note the main driveway is shared with the barns so please do not block it. At The Farmhouse, guests have access to the entire interior of the home excluding the garage, north facing porch, attic, and basement. Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor spaces including the garden areas, picnic table, and fire pit areas. Guests may NOT enter outbuildings, barns, animal enclosures, pastures, or open any gates. FARM LIFE It is important to note that the property is on a working farm. There are animal sights, sounds, and noises. There are barn cats that roam the property. Cattle and sheep in pastures and chickens in a coop. We will be courteous of you and appreciate the same. We do not live on the property but will be at the barns and in the pastures daily to take care of the animals.
