Open plan rural Gite with extensive garden

Relax in a self contained Gîte, in a picturesque, heritage village of the 7 Valleys region, just over an hour from Calais. Our Gîte provides an ideal base to explore all the area has to offer, or simply relax in the peaceful surroundings and extensive garden. The space Gîte Les Rossignols is a light and airy barn conversion, within over 3000m2 gardens surrounding our farmhouse, which was a cafe during the second world war. The downstairs accommodation consists of an open plan room with king sized bed, sitting area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. It is therefore ideal for people looking for step free facilities all on one level. There is additional sleeping accommodation on the mezzanine level upstairs, consisting of one area with two single beds, and another area with a toddler bed/ cot. A travel cot is also available for use upstairs or down. Please note, the Gite is open plan, so there aren’t any doors separating the living space downstairs from the upstairs. Bed linen and towels are included for all guests. Guests are welcome to explore the large, natural garden, which is a haven for wildlife. However, children should be supervised at all times, as there are wildlife ponds. Lose yourself in the relaxing, green space and find a seat to watch, and listen to, a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. You may even hear a Rossignol (nightingale). The picturesque village of Willeman sits within the rolling hills and valleys of the 7 Valleys region. It has it’s own chateau, listed church, and two auberges within walking distance. In the next village of Fillievres, the boulangerie and small shop also serves breakfast. The attractive market town of Hesdin-la-Forêt is only 10-15 minutes drive away and has all you need for your stay - with supermarkets, a leisure centre, a vibrant market on Thursday mornings, cafes, boulangeries, bank, pharmacy and several good restaurants. Enjoy the atmosphere at a brocante in one of the local villages, where you can often pick up a bargain. You can walk or cycle in the countryside or Hesdin Forest. There are several gardens to visit in the area, as well as WW1 historical sites. The Circuit de Croix-en-Ternois is a car and motorcycle race track only 11 minutes drive away. The Opal coast with miles of sandy beaches is only 40 minutes drive, with the nearest beaches at Merlimont and Berck. Guest access There is a short private driveway from the lane, and you can park close to the Gîte. The entrance and downstairs accommodation are all step free. There is a patio with table and chairs opposite the Gîte for your own use, and you are welcome to explore the large wildlife garden. Other things to note The gite is in the centre of a rural village. Star lit skies at night. Birdsong, animal noises, tractors rumbling past and the ringing of church bells…..the sounds of a French rural village!
