Description

Off Grid No electric grid Tiny Cabin with gas generator near the scenic Illinois River, on a Ozark Ridgeline with an out house toilet and unheated shower! The space Located on a ridge 1000 ft above sea level, the Blueberry Ridge tiny cabin is here to give you the tiny off grid experience! Ozark rock covers and litters the ridge surrounded by trees, your only neighbors might be heard, but they won't be seen in this little slice of NE Oklahoma Ozark hills. Some pictures are from last spring and summer, and some are current as of (11/30/24) Meant for those who want to get away from all the "grid" energy, fishermen, swimming/rafting folks, and those who wonder if they could live in a tiny home, Blueberry Ridge cabin gives you an experience to remember! Our 96 SQ foot cabin is equiped with a futon and a twin bed, and is really just meant to be where you rest and hang out, or relax on the deck, watching the clouds pass by or reading your favorite book. A small battery pack will provide enough power for your two lights at night, and charge a few cell phones as the generator is not meant to be run while you are sleeping. If you stay more than a night, you can recharge some of the battery pack with a 25 W solar panel connection, and there are gas stations nearby (25 minutes away) if you need more gas for the generator. (Instructions are in the cabin for both charging the battery pack via solar and to run the generator). What does an off grid experience look like? It's basically primitive camping but with a bedroom powered by a 2500 watt gas generator that can keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Your stay comes with 2 gallons of gas to run the AC, lights, and fan. Also, an outdoor shower with a battery powered shower head in case you want to rinse off after a day at the river. The toilet is essentially an outhouse (that you change out when full, I know not really fun, but necessary after one or two bowel movements. For those who can't/don't want this type of experience please look elsewhere. The used bags are then placed in a container that will be disposed as part of the cleaning fee). One of the most attractive aspects of this property is that there are no overhead or underground power lines on the property or within 200 feet of the cabin, so that means you get to experience nature to it's fullest! For those really sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies, you'll be able to feel the difference!!! With a few moderate to hard trails, the over 2.5 acres are yours to explore and enjoy. A fire pit is available, please use only dead wood either already stacked or collected from the property and keep within the metal ring. Also, be aware of burning bans due to high winds and low humidity; the forest is ours to protect! If the blueberries are in season, feel free to forage for some, and although I haven't sprayed chemicals/herbicides since I acquired the property over a year ago, you may still want to rinse them before enjoying. So are you ready to cross an off grid tiny house stay off your bucket list or to find out if the lifestyle is right for you? Other attractions nearby are the Illinois Scenic River with multiple kayaking/rafting companies to choose from, and state access fishing/swimming holes on the river, Natural Falls State Park, and Tenkiller Lake isn't too far from here either. The Chewy bridge acess is closest at under 4 miles away for swimming and fishing (fishing license is required by the state). Most restaurants can be found in Siloam Springs AR, or Tahlequah, OK, with a few gas options and Dollar General and Family Dollar in Kansas Ok. PLEASE READ: As much as I want to talk about how cool this property is, the following list/disclaimer may save you some time, money, and undesirable experiences. Don't book this property IF: You can't or don't want to operate a 2500 watt gas generator (instructions and 2 gallons of gas provided) You need running water. You need running plumbing. You don't want to drive on gravel roads (1 mile of gravel road from blacktop road with a 30 ft steep rocky section right before the cabin) You need great cell service (I have ATT, which works ok on top of the ridge, but loses service easily) You can't handle/don't want to be in a small space. You don't want to be in nature with natural animals such as but not limited to deer, roadrunners, bats, owls, coyotes, venomous snakes, scorpions, ticks (not an issue November- Feb), lizards, uneven ground, hidden rocks and tree roots, and many other wonderful however potentially dangerous animals/terrain
