Description

“The Study” is our downstairs retreat featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a cozy living area with a library filled with books for all ages. Thoughtful, quiet, and comfortable, it’s ideal for relaxing stays, reading, and unwinding in a space full of character. Located just 10 minutes from Robber’s Cave State Park, it’s perfect for rest after a day of exploring. The space “The Study” is the downstairs retreat within our family home, offering a warm and inviting space designed for comfort, reflection, and rest. Built in 1980 by my father, this home was carefully handcrafted with intention, and the downstairs retains much of that original character and thoughtful detail. Set on a limestone ridge across from Wilburton’s Sycamore Springs Golf Course, the property has long been a place of gathering and retreat. The natural rock features surrounding the home add to its sense of history and quiet connection to the land. The entrance to “The Study” is located at the back of the home at ground level, accessed by a charming stone path that leads to your private entry. This lower level includes two comfortable bedrooms, one full bathroom, and a cozy living area anchored by a library filled with hundreds of books collected over the years—ranging from classic literature and children’s books to unique and practical titles—inviting guests to slow down and explore. Because this is the lower level of the home, the temperature is maintained at a comfortable 72 degrees. Ceiling fans are provided in each bedroom and in the living area for additional comfort. Electric radiator heaters are available in each bedroom for use as needed. If you require any temperature adjustments during your stay, please don’t hesitate to contact the host. While no one lives upstairs, the upper level may be rented to other guests during your stay. As a result, you may occasionally hear normal household sounds such as footsteps or movement from above. We want to be transparent so you can plan accordingly, and many guests find the space remains quiet, comfortable, and well-suited for rest. Throughout “The Study,” you’ll find restored antiques and meaningful details that reflect the care and craftsmanship poured into the home over decades. The atmosphere is calm, thoughtful, and welcoming—ideal for reading, relaxing, or simply enjoying a peaceful stay. Located just 10 minutes from Robber’s Cave State Park, this space makes a perfect home base for exploring the area or unwinding after a day outdoors. Whether you’re visiting for a quiet getaway, a short retreat, or time spent reconnecting, “The Study” offers a comfortable and character-rich place to rest.
