A Cosy Country Retreat

Close to the lakes and mountains of the Mackenzie Country. Timaru City a short drive away, has heaps to suit everyone's needs. East Coast based The space The ideal spot to take a break in your journey or stay a while longer. With lots of room to park beside the apartment for a Horse float, Campervan/caravan. Offload the horses for a short break. Allow your dogs to run and play for a bit with our dogs. We do request that your pets do not go on the furniture, but should they be that way inclined there is a blanket to put down to help protect our furniture. This is also a safe environment for your kids to play and enjoy a small hobby farm experience. Your apartment is private but is attached to the main house , with its own private entrance from the verandah with lovely views out to the mountains. The apartment comprises of a large lounge with 65 inch TV, great for watching movies or sports in, with a selection of board games and kids toys available should you be stuck indoors, there is even a watering and feeding station for the pets. The modern bathroom has a walk in shower and large vanity. A large bedroom with heaps of storage suitable for long stays, and a comfortable queen sized bed. Relax listening to the fish ponds water fountain or the birds singing away. You are welcome to run around playing with our friendly dogs. The kitchen and dining has lots of different cooking facilities An Induction twin hob, microwave, Airfryer and Electric frying pan, kettle and toaster including a large fridge freezer. Relax on the verandah light up the gas BBQ and enjoy the views to the mountains. As a semi-rural apartment the road does have some local traffic or people going down to the river to fish or play. Lovely gardens surround our home and the apartment, with several friendly farm animals available to entertain you, you are welcome to meet the goats, sheep, cows and chickens with and get some cuddles from them with our assistance. Guest access The guests have access to the apartment from the off street parking area which is part of the main shared driveway, we ask you to stick to the 10km speed limit and close gates behind you at all times. Please be respectful of our two dogs that roam freely around the gardens and house, they are friendly and love cuddles and wont bother you other than saying hello, they do love other furry friends to play with and are extremely gentle but bouncy dogs. Access to the paddocks is under supervision please be aware if opening a gate it should be closed behind you or when you leave the property please close the main gates behind you if they are already closed. The village has amazing restaurant facilities and resources with a library included, there is also a fantastic highly recommended local laundromat available just off the main road in the village for refreshing your clothing. Travel to and from the local Timaru Airport is available at an additional cost to be discussed with your hostess and is subject to availability. Other things to note Please be aware this is a working farm property, you will encounter life stock and pets. Our 2 dogs are friendly and will be keen to meet you, please let us know if this concerns you. They may be possibly unsure of small children to start, but once they get to know you they are lovable, they love to play with you if you like. The boys (dogs) love other dogs too, but are also quite happy playing on their own. You are welcome to bring your own pets, please make sure they respect our property and do not chase our animals, mess or leave deposits inside the apartment and that any outside ones are cleaned up as much as you can, there is an available bucket and spade and dustbin for messes. The apartment is a semi serviced apartment (weekly bedding and linen change for long stays, light cleaning of the kitchen and floors) Please leave our apartment as you find it. If there is a problem with anything feel free to discuss this with us and do feel free to ask should you require anything in specific to make your stay more comfortable. Please note that any excessive cleaning or repairs will be billed out accordingly for you to pay for.
