Other things to note This is a working adult house, it is not a dedicated vacation home or bed and breakfast. We are also in high-country Colorado so things, like repairing plumbing, are more difficult. It's important that things run well and we limit emergencies. With that in mind, we have house rules. House Rules • We require a financial and criminal background check. We ask that you pay for the background check upfront. The background check cost will be deducted from your booking total should you stay with us. We use a third-party service. • Help stack wood and keep the wood stove running. This usually requires a learning curve so practice often in your first few days/weeks. There are also occasions when you will be the only one at the house and need to manage this solo. • Help shovel snow (vs. stepping on it and making dangerous ice) • Help take out the trash and recycle Keep the doors closed and locked (mountain lions and bears can open handles) • Keep windows closed enough that the cat can't push the screens out. • Do not share owner, roommate, or house details with those outside the house (not even locals) • Clean up after yourself: Dishes should be done nearly immediately, don't leave crumbs, etc. on counters/tables. Don't leave towels or clothing on the floors. Help put away dishes • Use coasters on the wood furniture • Do not put food bits, oils, or starches down any of the sinks or into the dishwasher • Please use shower drain hair catcher and glass door squeegee • No food storage or cooking in bedrooms • Do not leave food out (we are in the mountains and do not want to attract rodents) • Flush only natural waste and 2-ply toilet paper. Flush low flow toilets twice. • Come prepared for high-country, including 4x4 (winter), bring bear spray and other appropriate emergency gear, and all-season clothing • No unapproved guests or parties • Only approved visitors to the house • Do not enter the owner's or roommates' rooms or bathrooms • Do not harass or let your pet harass the wildlife • Latch the gates • Do your best not to let the cat out • Respect the pet-parenting guidance • Leave enough parking room for roommates, trash truck, snow plows, and mail truck • No smoking or vaping indoors • This house is not 420-friendly, please go off property • Quiet hours: 10 pm – 8 am • In the event of confirmed COVID-19 exposure, you must notify the owner and roommates immediately and isolate. The household will do their best to support your isolation, of course. • Do not show the interior or exterior of this house on social media or other public forums without the host's permission • Respect the roommates, pets, our neighbors, and the neighborhood • The house is unsuitable and unsafe for children, all guests should be adults For the safety of the members of this house, any guests flagrantly disregarding the rules will be asked to leave immediately.
