Indoor pool and private tennis court. Huge wood burner and plentiful supply of logs THE SPACE The Cottage is a fantastic self contained barn conversion. Please note that the driveway is somewhat cambered so may not be suitable for very unstable guests, though there is parking very close to the Bar so the amount of walking required to access the building is limited. The cottage is all on one level with no steps internally The space is large , light, open and airy but is cosy in colder weather with a huge wood burning stove and underfloor heating through out. One bedroom has a king bed and the other a twin and single bed. We can put a temporary bed in the king room for a 6th guest and a mattress on the floor for a 7th guest. The hosts live in the main house on site some 75 metres away from the Cottage and are available when required. Please note the following 1. The cottage is directly above a riding menage and occasionally horses may be exercised there-in. 2.Please also note that there are steep terraced flower beds immediately below the decking so small children must be supervised at all times. 3. The Wifi is good but mobile phone reception in the building is limited. It is however available at the top of the driveway around 100 metres away Make sure you login to the WiFi as soon as you arrive ...that way you can use your mobile plan through the WiFi if you switch WiFi calling on on your mobiles. Guests have use of indoor pool and private tennis court which is near the main house but please note the following . USE OF POOL 1.The pool will be available for your exclusive use at any time of your choosing between 10am and 6.30pm. Guests should let the hosts know when they wish to use the pool to enable the hosts to remove the cover and open it up . 2.Please also note that the pool is currently undergoing redecoration after a small leak to the roof so some marks remain visible. 3.All swimming is undertaken at your own risk. 4.There are no shower facilities in available in the pool house so guests should use the facilities in the cottage. 5. Absolutely no alcohol is permitted in the pool; glassware is also prohibited . 6. Diving is not permitted . 7. The pool does benefit from a swim jet . 8. Please note that the pool has a cover which has deposits of calcium carbonate on it and may therefore initailly appear unsightly. This is becasue we live in area with very hard water and when the water on the top of the cover evaporates it leaves this deposit. This is similar to the scale in a kettle. We remove this once or twice a year but it is just a natural deposit from the water. There may also on occasions be a small amount of sand on the bottom of the pool, which emanates from the filter via the pump. This is because the pump and filter are left on permanantly, filtering the entire water roughly every 5 hours so it is incredibly clean. The pool temperature is maintained at a minimum of 27 degrees which is well within the recommendations for swimming. (To put that into context it is 2 degrees higher than the sea temperature at Marbella at its maximum in August!) . 9. The use of the pool is STRICTLY FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES. Any COMMERCIAL USE including filming will only be permitted under separate negotiation. 10. Please also note that there are a number of steps both in the pool building and on the walkway to the pool so it is not suitable for those with very limited mobility. 11 . The pool is located in a different building to the cottage. It is less than a minutes walk between the two . TENNIS COURT USE 1.The tennis court is available without prior notice to the hosts. It is fully accessible other than between 10.30 am and 12noon on Sunday mornings 2. Guests are advised to bring their own rackets and balls though there is some basic equipment available for guests to borrow if they wish. DOGS Dogs may be accepted subject to prior agreement with the hosts on a case by case basis and subject to an additional charge of £30 per night per dog for 1 night and by separate agreement with the hosts for longer stays (and depending on the size and breed of the dog. ) This will be payable to the hosts directly in advance. All dogs will need to be kept indoors or on a lead at all times because fencing is not dog proof. INDOOR ENTERTAINMENT There is a plentiful supply of DVD' s available to suit all ages,. Please note that there is a TV screen with a Chrome cast facility and access, via an Amazon Fire Stick to a range of TV internet-based apps . eg iplayer , itvx, YouTube etc plus various other services which might require your own subscription. GUEST ACCESS Guests have access to the barn and decking . The pool and the tennis court are also available ( see separate notes) NEIGHBOURHOOD HIGHLIGHTS The property is located on the Surrey /Hampshire border , on the edge of the reasonably large village of Rowledge having a good local old fashioned pub , a co-op shop and post office. There are many more delightful village country and gastro -pubs within a two mile radius. The market town of Farnham is some three miles away with Waitrose, Sainsburys and Lidl supermarkets together with a wide range of boutique shops and restaurants. We are close to a wide range of outdoor spaces, including Frensham common and ponds, Alice Holt Forest and the Bourne Woods, plus many national trust properties including the Devils Punchbowl Guest access Guests have sole use of the barn and the decking area attached to it . They also have access the indoor pool in a separte building attached to tyhe main house which is located 75 metres from the barn . Guests have sole access to the pool at times to be pre agreed with the hosts and is available between 10 am and 6.30 pm Guests should let the hosts know what time they wish to use the pool to enable the hosts to open it up and remove the cover.
