Grafton Homestead: Welcoming Couples & Solo Guests

Traveling for a special occasion? Ready to explore Vermont life? This private 2-story 1970s apartment, recently updated, is attached to a house built in the late 1700s. Expect nostalgia & modern convenience. The best of both! Slow down by the Saxtons River. Walk/drive to the village. In quintessential Grafton you may dine, hike, swim, x-country ski, shop & more. A taste of cheese, anyone? The space The entire Airbnb rental space is attached to but separate from the rest of a historic home. The two-story apartment is on the far right (white door) and closest to a red barn when looking at the property from the road. Parking is on site. Each entrance to the Airbnb has steps and handrails. The entrance in front (white door) is along the Saxtons River and the other faces the back of the property with a serene lawn, trees and boulders. Downstairs are the kitchen with dining area and the living room. Upstairs is the bedroom (queen bed, new mattress) and a bathroom featuring a shower only. The downstairs bathroom offers a tub/shower combination. The owner of the property lives in the main part of the house (porch entrance in middle, green door) and a second Airbnb apartment is above the owners's living space (far left entrance, yellow door). Guest access Keypad entry makes self check-in convenient for guests. Your own personal code will be messaged to you prior to arrival. The entire Airbnb apartment is yours during your stay. No one else comes in and out of your space while you are there. There is an outdoor seating area for guests at the apartment's rear entrance. A charcoal grill on the adjacent owner's patio is also available for guest use. Other things to note We want our guests to be comfortable and have taken steps to install Tesla back-up home batteries, insulate windows, update heating, provide air conditioning, etc. This being said we do ask that guests be mindful of the cost of heating such a large home and not simultaneously open windows while cranking up the thermostat. It's Vermont. Guests may need to use our wi-fi for phone calls if their mobile carrier does not offer service in the area. AT&T and Verizon do seem to have strong signals in Grafton. You may be asked to move your car (to another part of the driveway) when the snow plow comes through. Note that there is no television but you are welcome to use our wi-fi for streaming on your personal devices.
