Cabin in Val Grande in Cicogna

A small stone cabin to spend a holiday in contact with nature: a rural reality in a small mountain village! I'm Rolando, my family and I run the Corte Merina farmhouse, raise goats and produce cheeses. We are in the heart of the Valgrande National Park in the small village of Cicogna. 15 km from Lake Maggiore and the city of Verbania. Once in the valley, you will find a unique environment among centuries-old woods and lush nature. CIR103023-AGR-00002 The space The small cabin, in a mountain pasture near the farmhouse, is an independent accommodation with a kitchen equipped with a gas stove, pots and dishes, microwave, and refrigerator. It has a bedroom, a private bathroom and outdoor space where you can enjoy the view of the valley. The room has a double bed (queen size), equipped with sheets and blankets, rustic furniture, and a small loft where there is the possibility of adding 2 mattresses on the floor for children. We provide bath soaps and towels. You can prepare meals on your own or request breakfast or half board at the farmhouse (service available from March to October). The cabin is heated by a wood stove, in the winter months the wood is supplied already cut. Hot water is provided in the kitchen and bathroom (with shower). The tap water comes from a mountain spring and is drinkable. There is no Wi-Fi in the cabin, but you can use it for free at the farmhouse. Even cell phones in the Val Grande area don't always have a signal! Guest access The cabin where you will stay is within walking distance, via a path, 5 minutes from where you leave your car. Parking is not private and is located on the dirt road where the path begins. We recommend hand luggage, backpacks, no trolley. If you have heavy luggage, we're here to help! You can have breakfast or dinner at the farmhouse, by reservation, whenever you want, for every day of your stay or day by day. Other things to note Cicogna is considered the capital of the Val Grande National Park. Known as the wilderness of the Alps is a wild area within walking distance of Lake Maggiore, on the Piedmontese shore. It is 15 km from Verbania. To reach us you will have to enter the valley via a mountain road that enters the heart of the National Park! The road is narrow, but it can be easily navigated by car or small vans. Please be careful: on the final stretch, there is a tunnel with a maximum height of 2.70 metres! Once you reach your destination you can relax or hike, go down to the river where you can find beautiful pools to swim, climb the crests of the mountains to enjoy breathtaking views. Following the nature trails of the park, set up with illustrative panels, you will discover a valley full of charm, with its centuries-old history and unspoiled nature.
