PLANT ROOM: Art-Chic Central Retreat(& dog)
Central, quiet , fashionable, and large room with boutique comforts and design in a peaceful pocket of Emeryville. UNIQUE SPOTS Visit Berkeley Bowl West/Urban Ore/Public Market by foot; area is vibrant and walkable, with simple access to SF by car or public transit. Well-cared for(medicated, vaccinated), trained dogs welcome with $30 fee per dog (subject to breed). NO CATS, please. Artistic design in a quiet, central location with a friendly and gracious host and a sweet mutt. This is one of two private room listings. Driveway parking available. House not wheelchair accessible. Shared use of full bathroom, including shower, bathtub, squatty potty, bidet, and bamboo toilet paper! Shared, partial use of kitchen: use of fridge, pantry, microwave, toaster oven, and simple cooking on the gas range or oven. No elaborate food preparation. I largely use the microwave to cook my food. (Microwaves have a bad rep. With a tight seal and a little water added to the food, they retain more nutrients than fire or radiant heat.) This house is small and cozy. The room is private, but not secluded; it's located off the kitchen. You might see me or another guest at some point, and experience a home-like feel. Did I mention a dog lives here? UNIQUE SPOTS Located on the greenway, a foot/bike/skate path that runs for 10 blocks. Visit Berkeley Bowl West/Urban Ore/Public Market on foot! Area is vibrant and walkable, with simple access to SF by car or public transit. A uniquely-textured neighborhood. An interesting melange of residential homes blend into warehouses along the greenway. A network of mutual-aid stations (free piles, little libraries, garden produce, free fridge and pantry) lace the residential streets. BART My house is located 1.8 miles from the Ashby stop, and 2.2 from the MacArthur stop. A free shuttle (Emery-Go-Round, HOLLIS LINE) will take you to and from MacArthur BART Station. The AC transit, Transbay, bus line J will whisk you into the city and drop you at Salesforce Transit Center, it is only three blocks from here by the Starbucks, but runs a limited service Monday through Friday, mornings, and evenings commuter hours. Alternatively, you can catch line F from the Bay St. Mall on Shellmound Street, and coming back. It will drop you at the Trader Joe’s in the Powell Street Plaza. BUS: The number 36 bus will take you directly to the UC Campus. STREET SWEEPING 1st Thursdays 8am-12pm on my side of 64th street, 2nd Thursdays 8-12 on the opposite side of 64th. Relatively safe, free street parking. I have a driveway that I am absolutely happy to share- especially if your car is loaded with high-stakes valuables that you can’t keep in the house. I also have a basement for extra easy storage.
