This cottage is your ideal home from home for a relaxing, memorable stay. Perfect for couples, families, or friends seeking a countryside escape. The space Within a 10-minute walk to the centre of Matlock and a 20-minute stroll to Matlock Bath, this charming cottage is arranged over four floors, offering a variety of cosy corners to relax in after a day exploring the local area. It comfortably accommodates four adults, with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, with an additional very comfortable double sofa bed. The basement kitchen/diner is fully equipped for your stay, and a stable door opens onto a terrace with lovely views of the tree-lined valley and the river below. The living area, with its sofa and chairs around the log burner, is ideal for unwinding with a cuppa or a glass of wine after a day exploring, while the adjoining snug area is perfect for games or TV. Part of the charm of this cottage lies in the narrow, winding stairs leading to the loft and kitchen, which may not be suitable for small children or those with mobility issues. Please note that access to the cottage is via a narrow lane to drop off luggage, leading to a path with no vehicle access. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome – please note that the path leading to the cottage forms part of neighbours’ front gardens and so dogs must be taken to the end of the lane to toilet: please pick up after your dogs. Car parking is 5 mins away (£6 per 24h) 10 mins walk to the centre of Matlock town; 20 mins walk to Matlock Bath Guest access 1. Entire Cottage: - Guests have full access to the entire cottage, including all rooms, outside terrace, and amenities. 2. Outdoor Areas: - Access to a private terrace with seating, electrical socket (for charging devices), offering views of the valley and river. - Boot cupboard available outside the kitchen door for muddy boots - Car parking nearby. 3. Living Spaces: - The cosy living room with a log burner and comfortable seating. - The snug area, equipped with games and a TV for entertainment. - A dining area in the basement kitchen/diner. - A number of dog beds are available throughout the cottage 4. Kitchen: - Fully equipped kitchen with a hob, oven, microwave, fridge, and all necessary cookware and utensils. - Access to a coffee machine, toaster, and basic pantry items like tea, coffee, sugar, and spices. 5. Bedrooms and Bathrooms: - Two double bedrooms with fresh linens and towels provided. - Two bathrooms, one with a shower and another with a bathtub. 6. Laundry Facilities: - Access to a washing machine and dryer (detergent provided) clothes airer, iron and ironing board. 7. Technology and Connectivity: - Free Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. - Smart TV with streaming services available. - Xbox Series X 8. Special Features: - Log burner with a supply of firewood. - Board games available in the snug. 9. Access Details: (available following booking) - Instructions for the lockbox for self-check-in. - Directions on how to navigate the narrow lane and path leading to the cottage. - Access to the cottage is via stone steps and is unfortunately not suitable for those with mobility restrictions or in need of special access. 10. Exclusions (if any): - Upper gardens are private property Other things to note Your furry family: We want you to bring your dogs on holiday with you - we just have a few dos and don'ts to help you, as well as our neighbours, enjoy your time here. Do: - bring up to 2 well-behaved dogs - feel free to use any of the available dog beds in every room - take your dogs to toilet at the end of the lane and pick up their mess Don't: - please don’t allow your dogs on the human beds - please don’t allow your dogs to toilet on the path leading up to the cottage, as it's part of the front gardens of our neighbours
