Description
Escape to Maine! Red Rooster is one of 15 VERY rustic cabins in historic Birchwood on Rangeley Lake, a 5.5-acre shorefront community built in the 1910s. Residents and guests have access to about 1000 feet of lakefront with multiple gorgeous swimming, boating and sunset spots. The space Half of Red Rooster's sun-filled 600+ sq. ft. is original. It was built in the 1950s and as a matter of tradition, we have retained as it was built, with windows that don't completely shut, uneven floorboard, and other quirky original details. The original section includes a dining area, two small bedrooms (full-sized beds), a bath and a full kitchen (no dishwasher). The other half of Rooster was built in the 1980s and added a large LR with picture windows and a wood-burning stove. New LR pine floors and on-demand hot water were added in 2024. Furnished with a mix of vintage and Mid-Century modern, it's stylish and comfortable, but Guest access The private cabin has neighbors on one side, the road on one side and the woods on two sides. The lake is a two-minute walk. The entire property is available for outdoor activities such as games, picnics, and wild berry-picking. Red Rooster has a small deck with two chairs and a table. Other things to note The septic system is old, please be mindful of not flushing anything except toilet paper.
