Our spacious 102m² Basque townhouse, officially rated 3 stars by the French Tourism Board (which means a lower tourist tax for our guests), has been carefully renovated to preserve its local character while offering a fresh, comfortable and welcoming space. We designed Biek Bat to reflect the spirit of the Basque Country, blending cosy details, local culture, upcycled antiques and a few original touches to create a home that feels warm, relaxed and authentic. The house is ideally located for exploring the region. You can stroll to Hendaye’s lively town centre in just a few minutes, walk along the beautiful Txingudi Bay promenade to reach the beach in around 20 minutes, or hop on the train to visit nearby San Sebastián or Biarritz. The Pyrenees mountains are also close by for spectacular walks and day trips. Sleeping arrangements • Main bedroom – queen bed (160 × 200) • Twin room – two single beds (90 × 200) which can be joined to form a king • Bunk room – two single beds (90 × 190) plus a trundle bed for a 7th guest (for children / under 18) Living spaces The kitchen is fully equipped and opens onto the dining and living area, creating a comfortable space for shared meals and relaxed evenings together. A separate utility room contains additional essentials for your stay. The lounge is cosy and inviting, with space for reading, working remotely or simply relaxing after a day exploring the coast. Large double bay windows fill the space with natural light, while the thick traditional stone walls keep the house pleasantly cool in summer and warm in winter. For guests travelling with bikes, surfboards or beach equipment, a small private garage is available for stays of five nights or longer in the neighbouring residence. Everything you need is within walking distance - cafés, markets, the bay promenade and the town square are just moments away. As a French Basque–English household who also speak Spanish, we love sharing local recommendations to help guests discover the region like a local. Other things to note Bed linen and bath towels (to be used only in the house and not to be taken to the beach) are provided as well as a starter kit for the kitchen (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt, pepper, washing machine and dishwasher tablets etc...) There is an organic bakery (it has been said to be the best in Hendaye and who am I to argue!) right at the end of the street where you can enjoy freshly baked goods or stop for a coffee on one of the tables out front—the adjoining deli stocks local delicacies along with day-to-day essentials. The house is perfectly situated with many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance or take a stroll to the beach area for even more choice! The nearest bus stop is opposite the house and serves the town centre, and beach area and can take you right up the coast to Bayonne with stops in every town along the way. This is also a great option if you are arriving from Biarritz airport. The train station is a 15 minute walk away and has a local train (the Topo) taking you directly to San Sebastian, while the main TGV station means you can visit further up the coast and even take a train direct to Paris! Street parking is free around the rental with 2 small and 1 larger car park on your doorstep. Summer in Hendaye means local festivals both in the town centre and the beach area and Biek Bat townhouse is ideally situated for both! The Hendaye festival takes place over the second weekend of the month of August. The festival attracts many visitors and the town gets very busy over the 3 days so please be aware of this when booking as we cannot be held responsible for any extra noise over this period. A complimentary starter pack is offered for each stay. If you need to replenish your supplies, there are 3 supermarkets, 2 in the town centre (5 and 10 minute walk away) and another a short car ride away. Registration Details 6426000233761
