This special place is close to everything, yet tucked away in a peaceful spot just off Main St in the small town of Alton. The Green House is surrounded by trees, making you feel like you are in a private secluded space, yet you are within walking distance of the grocery store, library, restaurants & coffee, laundromat and even the old train-stop-turned -park among other lovely places! Skiing at Gunstock Ski Resort is a mere 20 minutes away and Lake Winnipesaukee is within a 5 minute drive! The space This property offers seasonal comfort with a hammock and garden for summer relaxation and a wood-burning stove for cozy winter evenings. It features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, hall/utility closet, bathroom with shower, and a living room with antique touches. The TV room can serve as a third bedroom (pull out couch). Upstairs, there are two bedrooms—one with 2 twin beds and a cot, the other with a queen bed—and a bathroom with a large soaking tub. Guest access The main house can be accessed from the front walkway. Guests are welcome to use all rooms in the main building. Please note: a locked door off the kitchen connects to the back studio apartment. This area is off limits. Other things to note Walk to Hannaford Grocery Store via the path behind the house! Visit Ackerly’s restaurant just across Main St. if you don’t want to cook. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee at Aroma Joe’s, DD’s or the unique Sweet Caroline cafe near Hannaford. Need to do a load of laundry? No problem. Just stop in at the well-managed laundromat nearby. All this and so much more within walking distance.
