Description
Ravendale was created from what was the main barn, it is full of character with its distinctive arched facade with characterful oak beams on full display inside. On the ground floor there are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, shower room, and bathroom with a separate shower. All bedrooms are well decorated, tastefully furnished with coordinated soft furnishings. Upstairs is the well equipped kitchen and comfortable dining area together with a spacious lounge with a log burning stove. The space We would love to welcome you here to our home in this beautiful setting. We bought Howscales Holiday Cottages in 2016, and we have enjoyed putting our personal touch to each cottage, creating stylish home-from-home self-catering holiday accommodation. We live onsite with our two canine buddies, Murphy and Rosie. There are four cottages set together in this idyllic Cumbrian countryside, Just 1.5 miles from the village of Kirkoswald. Offering the personal touch and making sure you have everything you need to make your stay relaxing, enjoyable and memorable is our aim. We are dog friendly, having our own dogs and enjoying holidays with them too. We offer high-standard accommodation so we do have doggy rules, since the cleanliness of our cottages is paramount for all our guests and having spent too many holidays staying in doggy friendly accommodation that was less than clean and well-kept, we know how important it is. The well-equipped cottages are surrounded by gardens and set back from a quiet road between the villages of Kirkoswald and Renwick. In a slightly elevated position they enjoy uninterrupted views across tranquil pastures and woodlands towards the hills of the Lake District and Pennines. The Eden Valley is often described as Cumbria's best kept secret. Bordered in the West by the lakes and mountains of the Lake District National Park, now a World Heritage Site and to the East by the hills and waterfalls of the North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales. This area of Cumbria through which the River Eden meanders is so often overlooked, but offers a perfect rural retreat for a relaxing holiday in delightful scenery. Guest access There is a good sized garden to explore which has stunning views of the Renwick fells. There are various seating areas to choose from dependant on where the sun happens to be. BBQ's are also provided. Other things to note There is a central cobbled courtyard which dates back to when the property was a working farm and is one of a few remaining in the area. Over the years it has become quite uneven so care needs to be taken.
