Urke is a small village in the middle of Hjørundfjorden with about 50 permanent residents, a lively little village, romantic with only a narrow road, it is almost like going back in time. But here you have everything you need, great nature, hiking and swimming opportunities, a shop with post office and pharmacy, a gardening center and its own pub/coffee with a great patio down by the marina. (Seasonally open) The nature in the area is fantastic and many of the most famous mountains in Sunnmørsalpane are right outside the door, we can mention the majestic Slogen and Saksa which have become very popular after Sherpas from Nepal have made steps up through the mountain, the beautiful Slogen, Skårasalen, Stålberghornet, Urkedalstindane and many more are just a stone's throw away. Most of the mountains in the area are just as popular for skiers from all over the world in winter as for mountain hikes in summer in varying degrees of difficulty. From the house there is a panoramic view of the fjord and the majestic mountains. During parts of the summer/autumn, the Hurtigruten comes into the fjord every day and passes right below the house, and docks down by the quay so that the tourists can get ashore. The house has 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 people. The house is rented out both summer and winter. The house has everything you need, with 1 bathroom and 2 toilets, fully equipped kitchen, freezer. In the neighboring village Øye you have the famous Hotel Union Øye which is open during the summer months. You may be tempted by the amazing meals in exquisite surroundings at this historic hotel with a distinctive character. Many famous people have stayed here, including kings from all over the world. Take the trip here to Urke and experience the beautiful nature that Norway has to offer. Other things to note In the basement of the house there is an apartment that is rented out full time separately, with separate entrance. Cleaning after stay can be rented for NOK 2,500. Bed linen and towels can be rented for NOK 200 per set.
