The house lies 82 metres (300 feet) above sea level, yet it is just 1.2 kms to the local haunt: the Sport Fishing Club, with refreshments & a cafe; also same distance to boat-launching ramp. A proper supermarket is in Kaeo, 10kms away, open 7 days. Ample parking at and near the house. A paradise for nature and birds; the home is 82 metres above sea level. All appliances are best quality; library & games provided. A set of luxury Lujo loungers for you for sunbathing. Boules/ Petanque set. Activities could include: fishing both Big Game & recreational; kayaking or boating on harbour or open ocean; walking DOC tracks to top of St Paul's Rock 213masl, behind house; or to Lane's Cove Hut on West Arm of harbour (2 hours one way); or driving to super beaches like family-friendly Tauranga Bay (15mins) or surfing beach Taupo Bay (40mins). Or: doing as little as possible; you deserve it! Bird species often seen feeding on lawn: Californian quail, pukeko swamp hen, white-faced herons, ring-necked pheasants, spur-winged plover, NZ pipit, blackbirds; birds often seen feeding in native trees metres from house: fantails, silver eyes, tui, chaffinch, myna, Eastern rosella parrot, NZ kingfisher. Zeiss binoculars and a bird guidebook available for your in-house stay. 2 Bird feeding tables set up, and Bird bath. Walks starting from Villa Whangaroa: 20mins to top of St Paul's Rock; 10mins down to harbourside; then 2000 steps =1.4kms from Donkeyman's Nest to Boyd Gallery & General Store (all flat along waterside). Two really great walks a short way away: the 2 hour Wairakau Walk to Lane Cove; and the 1 hour Mahinepua Peninsula Walk. During your stay While guests are in their own wing (separated from owner's wing by an open-to-the-sky atrium) then I leave them their space; but we may meet on the decks or in the kitchen/lounge. The nearest supermarket is the 4-Square in Kaeo, 10kms; open 7 days.
