Description
This new place on a historic farm is centrally located in the Berkshires, Hudson Valley, and Capital Region. Within 30 minutes of Tanglewood, 4 ski resorts, 6 lakes, Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, Mt. Greylock, and so much more. This owner's suite was renovated for guests with modern finishes but a sense of its history as Sleepy Hollow Dairy. Enjoy 50 acres with a mile plus of trails. Have fun with friends and family in all seasons with the hot tub, BBQ, fire pit, fireplace, and games. The space Shaker Meadows farmhouse and creamery are nestled in 50 acres of land that includes forested mountains, farmland, and a willow-lined pond that feeds into the Shaker Meadows wetlands. Walking and hiking trails run around the edges of the fields and through the hills. The Creamery suite is situated in a building dating to the 1800s. It has a four bedrooms (2 with queen beds, 1 with a full, and 1 with a twin over full bunk bed), 2 full baths (one en suite with shower and with clawfoot tub and shower) and one half bath, full kitchen open to the dining and living rooms, a hot tub patio and cooking patio with seating, BBQ, and fire pit, all overlooking the fields & mountains. The suite is heated and cooled by a central HVAC system controlled by the Google Nest thermostat near the piano. In the mid-20th century, this building served as a creamery, processing and bottling milk for local dairies. It now houses four guest units-- in addition to the Creamery suite, the building houses two loft apartments upstairs, and an attached carriage house. So while all interior spaces are private, you may see other guests on the 50 acre grounds, by the parking, etc. This is a working, organic farm, so you may see bugs (especially lady bugs) or animals such as birds, newts, frogs, or many others on the property. As we do not spray, you may even be lucky enough to be visited by some lady bugs in the suite during your stay, don't worry, they are harmless and in local culture are lucky because they are beneficial and eat crop-destroying aphids.
