The Coop at Winterwood Farm

Welcome to The Coop! We are located in the historic city of Winterville, Georgia- 7 miles east of Athens. We have renovated a section of our barn into a colorful, comfortable guest suite for friends, family, and visitors to use. We are in walking distance of the Marigold Auditorium, the Winterville Cultural Center and Gallery, the Winterville Library, the Front Porch Bookstore, the Marigold Market (seasonal) , the Firefly Farm Stop, Pittard Park, and the Firefly Trail. The space We live in an 1890s farmhouse on 1.5 acres of land in the historic district of the city of Winterville. We converted one section of our barn into the new guest suite. It is located behind our house. We raise chickens, flowers, and veggies. We have 13 hens and 2 roosters, and they do crow! A room to room fan in the bedroom provides white noise for light sleepers. (We have only had 1 guest mention the crowing) We also have 2 cats. Teddy is the friendly one, and you will most likely never see Pippin as he is very shy. We live within walking distance of 3 churches- Baptist, Methodist, and Non-denominational. The Firefly Trail runs right behind our property which makes it super convenient to walk and bike. The Marigold Auditorium and Winterville Cultural Center and Gallery are right across the street from us. Be sure to take a look at The Guide to Athens (a copy is in the guest suite) as it is a very comprehensive list of all that is going on in and around the Athens and Winterville area. Guest access Guests may use the entire guest apartment. Other things to note Our guest suite does include a large screened porch with ceiling fan on the back of the space that can be accessed through the living room. The porch includes a daybed, dining table with 2 chairs, and 2 Adirondack chairs for lounging. It is very private and according to several guests, it’s their most popular spot for napping and enjoying a glass of wine. ☺️
