The kitchen The space This darling little home sports a master bedroom with air conditioning with a comfortable queen bed and pullout futon which can sleep two (if you are good friends! It is a full). There is also a room with a regular bunk bed and two fans. The kitchen is well stocked and looks out over the lake. The bathroom looks towards the slopes of the volcano and has a shower, though if you like, you can also use the outdoor shower, which is delightful. The farm is situated high on a hill so there are great breezes and a lovely view. We have goats on the property (they are frequently in the pasture right in front of the butterfly house, actually), so you can watch them from your porch. There is an indoor sitting area in the master (a sofa), unless you are using it for a bed, but either way, the porch is huge, has a dining table, hammocks, and lots of space to sit and watch the butterflies and hummingbirds play in the garden in the front. Guest access Listed price includes 2 adults (any children are included in the base price), but as guests renting the house get access to the entire house, we have plenty of extra space for friends and family for an additional USD $10 per person per night. Guests renting the house get access to the entire house. We have lots to do on the farm-you can walk with our farmhand to pick eggs for breakfast from our free-range hens, and even try milking our goat and then making cheese. It is incredibly yummy. Our garden is entirely organic and full of tropical fruits and vegetables to enjoy. Other things to note WHY RENT FINCA OMETEPE- Experience a quiet farm off the beaten track in the tropical forest while still in close proximity to horse riding, hikes and beaches. Meet local Nicaraguans that work on the farm and that will make sure you have a memorable visit. Relish the wonderful views of the lake and the two volcanos. Enjoy the large balcony with an almost constant breeze that keeps the insects away. Wake up to the sound of monkeys, parrots, goats, and yes, a rooster. Pick your own snack from the tree on the farm. Eat it fresh or dry it for another day. Milk a goat or collect your own eggs. The house is 100% powered by renewable energy, sun and wind. We recycle and/or re-use everything-plastics, paper, and food scraps go either to the chickens, the goats (fruits), and the worm bin to make our organic fertilizer. We use no pesticides, so when we need to "fumigate" for pests, we use a spray made from garlic, onion, and chile peppers. We will let you know so you don't go downwind!
