Ubud, Bali, Indonesia Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali. Take a cooking class onsite at Tresna Bali Cooking School. Cycle from Mount Batur. Hike in rice fields. Raft down Ayung River. Ubud has hundreds of local cafes, temples, the famous art market. Discover woodcarvers, silver jewellery makers, and Indonesian painters. As experienced travel planners and chefs, we'll give you detailed tips on where to eat and explore for an authentic experience of Bali, away from the tourists. Our three Tresna Bali luxury cabins are tucked away down a narrow laneway at the edge of a traditional Balinese village called Bedulu. We live on site about a professional custom-built kitchen where you can join authentic Balinese cooking lessons. You even gather ingredients in our edible organic garden! TRESNA BALI COOKING SCHOOL If you're a food lover and want a deep, inside cultural experience, learn to cook authentic Balinese food onsite at Tresna Bali Cooking School. As one of only 8 participants, you'll gather ingredients in the garden before cooking a massive Balinese ceremonial feast of 16 recipes for a 9-course ceremonial feast. With only 2-3 classes per week, please book well in advance at Tresna Bali Cooking School. From our property, you can walk to Goa Gajah Temple, Yeh Pulu (Holy Spring), some roadside warungs (simple stalls selling local food), and our local morning market. A 10-minute drive away is Mas Village, where you'll find hundreds of woodcarvers and furniture makers. You can see Balinese artisans at work in Celuk and Lohtunduh too. Guest access LOCATION Our three Tresna Bali luxury cabins are dotted around our expansive riverside gardens, perched high above the sacred Petanu River. Our property, including the 3 cabins and our on-site cooking school, is tucked away down a narrow laneway at the edge of a traditional Balinese village called Bedulu, an authentic Balinese village, away from tourists and crowds, yet only 3.5 km from Ubud. Cars and small trucks can drive down the narrow laneway of 150 metres in total length. We highly recommend hiring one of the local village drivers who are familiar with our area, especially on the arrival day, when you have luggage. Some drivers unfamiliar with the area may be hesitant to go down the laneway. Please inform them that have a spacious parking area for them to turn their car around. GETTING AROUND Grab and Go-Jek drivers regularly drive here if they are from the Ubud area. You can easily and inexpensively book with Grab Car or Go-Jek scooters in and out of Ubud for about IDR 20,000-60,000 each way. VILLAGE AND JUNGLE LIVING For a more private stay, check out our Riverview and River Valley cabins. These two cabins are also on this property but have more privacy and spectacular river vallley views whereas our antique cabin enjoys garden views and is closest to our cooking school. While our antique cabin is very peaceful, the bathroom backs onto the small village laneway. There are typical jungle and village sounds from roosters, dogs, geckos, frogs, and children. There are very few motorbikes because we're at the end of a narrow laneway. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am. We provide a sound system, and you can bring your own earplugs if you're extremely sensitive to noises from nature and local villagers. Or consider staying at our Riverview or River Valley Cabin. Other things to note We live on the property and love sharing our insights with you, but we may be at the temple or busy with our cooking classes. We provide a detailed and updated guide to our neighbourhood upon check-in which answers almost every question that you may have. If you catch us giving offerings, please join in! Our gracious Balinese team will clean your cabin daily (included in your stay) as well as provide laundry services (extra costs). Our team handles both the cabins and the cooking school, therefore check-in after 6 pm is self-check-in. Please let us know if you'll arrive after 6 pm. Registration Details NIB: 2508220069375
