The Brambles, Bombala - a riverside country escape

Welcome to Platypus country. Overlooking rolling hills and the rambling Bombala River, The Brambles is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the historic township of Bombala. Take in sweeping views and feel a million miles away on the main street of town. Our cosy black iron-clad cottage is a leisurely stroll from the town's cafes, bakery, pub, shops, and the Bombala River walk. Just over an hour to the Sapphire Coast, Jindabyne, and Cooma, it's the perfect base to explore the wider region. The space The Brambles is a quaint, brand new black-clad corrugated iron cottage designed to embrace the serene views of the river and countryside. The block slopes down to the river, with scores of prickly blackberry brambles inhibiting river access, but offering Wally the goat and a family of wombats a great place to live their best life. Self contained with 2 bedrooms (one queen, one with 2x singles), 1 bathroom, laundry, and open plan living, dining and kitchen with large windows to take in the view. The kitchen has all the comforts of home with refrigerator, electric oven and cooktop, a microwave, a kettle and toaster, Nespresso machine and is well equipped with cookware and utensils. Also supplied are the pantry basics, including tea, instant coffee, drinking chocolate, salt and pepper and olive oil. In the main bedroom drift off on a lovely linen-wrapped queen bed, dressed with luxurious cotton and linen bedding, cosy doona and fluffy pillows. The twin room also features 100% cotton and Jardan linen bedding, and a gorgeous vintage wardrobe. The beds can be pushed together by guests to create a double if preferred. The bathroom offers great shower pressure, heat lamps, fluffy towels and natural Australian Sukin hair and body products. Find a second toilet in the laundry. The living room and main bedroom offer air con to keep you comfortable in any weather, and the twin room has a heater for cooler nights. Curl up on a generous sofa or armchair with a good book brought, borrowed or swapped in our little library, watch a movie, play a game or do a puzzle. There's plenty for the kiddies too. Enjoy the free WiFi from anywhere in the house. Sit on the veranda with a coffee or a wine and just take in the serenity. As this is a new home, the backyard is basic but is functional and has a clothesline for washing. Laundry- Sink and washer/dryer combo and laundry powder and treatments supplied. Laundry also has a toilet. The location A few minutes walk or a minute's drive down the hill you'll find the bakery (grab a coveted hot donut early on Mon, Wed and Fri!), butcher, pub, Chinese restaurant at The Guesthouse (Priscilla's), pharmacy, multiple cafes, and the iconic Imperial Hotel. The local pool is open in summer, and there are multiple points of access to the Bombala River walk - a beautiful walking and cycling circuit that meanders along the river where you might see a shy platypus or two. A fabulous playground with a bike and scooter track, flying fox, swings, trains and play equipment is a hit with the kids. Guest access Check In Is at 2pm and check-out is 10am. If you wish to arrive earlier or stay later we will accommmodate where we can. Parking 2 cars can park off street in the driveway, and plenty of street parking is available.
