Newly completed, Swallows’ Rest lies in the heart of the Lancashire countryside. Originally a stable block on our family run farm, it has been lovingly transformed into a superbly appointed 3-bedroom holiday home. Swallows’ Rest has a modern open plan layout a well-equipped kitchen, relaxing lounge and private garden that overlooks our meadow and stone circle. The spacious bathroom enjoys both a large low-profile shower and full-size bath. Exclusive fishing is available for two rods on our lake. The space Sleeping up to 6 people, Swallows’ Rest has one king size bedroom, one double bedroom and two singles (a travel cot can be provided with prior notice). Exclusive fishing for two rods is also available at a daily rate and upon request. Our private and rather enchanting lake is only a 100 meters from Swallows' Rest. This unique Lancashire Country Cottage sits on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Mawdesley. Mawdesley is frequently nominated and has indeed won, Best Kept Village of The Year on three separate occasions. It has a well-equipped village shop and The Red Lion Pub is always welcoming and most certainly the heart of this close-knit village. Swallows’ Rest is the ideal location to switch off, kick back and simply relax whilst holidaying or working away. For those wishing to get out and explore, this beautiful corner of Lancashire has much to offer. There are several delightful pubs close at hand and the independent artisan shops of Cedar Farm and Heskin Hall are equally accessible by footpath and road. The historic sea side town of Lytham St. Annes is only up the coast. With echoes of its Victorian heyday, Lytham St. Annes boast 22 miles of coastline overlooking the Irish sea, stunning Victorian architecture, a promenade and marina. Hosting numerous seasonal attractions all year round. Within just one mile of Swallows’ Rest, there are many diverse ways to fill your day. There are several other well-established Fresh Water Fishing Centres, offering dawn to dusk fishing. The Stocks Hall Health Club and Spa offers a wide range of treatments and spa packages whilst Rock and River Outdoor Activity Centre is the ideal choice for those seeking a more action-packed day. There is so much to do on your doorstep! You may not venture far but with major national attractions such as Liverpool, Manchester and Chester within an hour’s drive, to say nothing of The Lake District being on your doorstep, this makes Swallows’ Rest the ideal base to head out and explore all that the North West of England has to offer. Guest access Guest access is via a driveway shared with our farm Salt Pit Croft. There is designated parking outside Swallows' Rest for two vehicles. A sheltered courtyard at the front of the property and a private garden to the rear with patio doors from both the lounge and master bedroom.
