Private 2-story hand-built cabaña on the Mayan endangered animal sanctuary Nojoch Keej in the heart of the jungle! An easy drive to Tulum, cenotes, and other amazing attractions! Eat, sleep, and live in the heart of the jungle with the Mayan family that has spent decades building this sanctuary by hand. Surrounded by various endangered animals and a thriving jungle, you will never think of Mayans, animals, or conservation the same again. All proceeds go to Nojoch Keej's conservation efforts! The space Nojoch Keej is a government-sanctioned and licensed facility specializing in the rehabilitation and repopulation of certain endangered species indigenous to the local jungle. You're staying in a private 2-story hand-built cabaña in the heart of the sanctuary. Nojoch Keej's founding family lives in another home on-site and would love to show you the incredible world they have built! Guest access You will have full access to your cabaña, the common areas of Nojoch Keej, and supervised access to the animal pens (meaning you can feed and interact with the animals!). PLEASE do not feed or touch the animals without supervision. They are on a very strict diet and some are sensitive to human interaction. Other things to note Since this is somewhat remote, the family provides traditional Mayan meals for an additional reasonable cost (breakfast $100mxn/person, lunch $140mxn/person, dinner $140mxn/person). It is highly recommended that you take advantage of this not only because the food is delicious, but because there are few restaurants nearby. In addition, the family has several activities that you will be able to participate in (including feeding the animals, learning how to make tortillas, etc) and they can help you plan for other activities nearby (cave exploring, swimming in cenotes, Coba ruins, hiking to see monkeys, night walks in the jungle, etc).
